  1. If I was a betting man I’d wager the price will be the 7m Forest need for the first installment of the Anderson fee (assuming it’s a 5 year deal).
  2. He’s terrible, man . Genuinely can’t think of a worse keeper ever to have worn a Benfica shirt. Obviously a little bit of PSR shithousery going on here.
  3. Ugh. I’m usually quite upbeat about transfers but this lad is pony (was shocking for Benfica). Looks like a favourable deal as a thank you for overpaying on Anderson.
  4. Yikes, if true. Looked really bad for Benfica and is Forest’s 3rd choice goalie. Looks like they’re paying us more on Anderson just to get rid of this guy.
  5. The previous page. Hope and Downie reporting it; one saying a player coming the other way the other saying just a straight deal.
  6. I’d happily take both and close up shop for the window.
  7. I’m confused. 35m for Anderson? That can’t be true .
  8. Bad day at the office but he’s genuinely one of the hottest cb prospects in world football. Would be quite the statement signing imo.
  9. Depends what you mean by value for money though I suppose. I’d argue there’s more value in paying a little bit extra for a player you know can settle in the country and do well in the most difficult league in world football. While I agree there’s potentially great players we’re missing out on by not shopping abroad more often, we can’t afford to take too many risks when the odds are stacked against us via FFP. The players we bought outside of the PL weren’t unknown punts; they were either established internationals or had played in the Champion’s League (and none were particularly cheap either btw) mitigating that risk a lot. I like what we’ve been doing so far, given the constraints.
  10. Yeah, PSR rules mean we’re having to box clever in the market and buying the dip as opposed to paying hype-inflated prices. It’s also cool to see that we’re focusing on buying players based on profile and attributes (as to how well they can work with our playing style) instead of form. The game is rigged at the top so we can’t do what the other top teams can; we have a clear strategy and I’m here for it.
  11. Thiaw was really good the season before but he’s looked very shaky since his return from injury. Great timing to try and get him when his stock is so low; still young and has all the attributes to grow into a quality PL centre-back imo.
  12. Saudi clubs won’t give us enough money for both players I reckon. PIF are seriously scaling back a lot of projects now.
  13. Do people really want Rayan Cherki? He’s got great technical ability but Christ, physically, he’s the laziest most unfit player I’ve ever seen play at the top level; just disdainfully strolls about the field moaning and snarling. His agent is also Mbappe’s mum who, by all accounts, is an absolute nightmare too.
  14. Nah just a situation earlier in the match that a switched on presser of the ball like AG could have made something out if.
  15. Just playing devil’s advocate here but would you have said Ruben Loftus-Cheek is worth 55m? Because he’s outperformed Tonali at Milan and looks like a star in his first season there. I think people are underestimating how poor Seria A is in comparison to the Premier League (in general).
  16. I’m assuming he’s on a fat wedge as, iirc, he was offered a bumper deal by Ancelotti at a time where he was looking every bit like a 70m pound player . As much as I think Howe can bring him back to the beast he was at that time, breaking our wage structure for a 2nd choice striker wouldn’t be the most sensible decision.
  17. Said this before but my mate who supports Feyenoord doesn’t think he’s anything special (“headless chicken”). Must admit he’s looked fine whenever I’ve seen him play but I’d rather sell someone unproven for some PSR headroom than one of our more established players. If we can get a top rw in using this wriggle-room then it’s a no-brainer, really.
  18. Echoing what a lot of people have said already; Kilman is very good but he doesn’t make too much sense for us unless he can play on the right?
  19. Could be a smart move. We kind of like to buy the dip and there’s a lot of upside to DCL for under 20m. Despite his recent injury record and form I really like his profile. With the right set-up I can potentially see him doing well (see someone like Solanke who was being called average a season or 2 ago).Would give us some aerial threat up front too. I don’t mind it!
  20. Let’s be real, Southgate is absolutely the type of bellend that would take the minus offer on The Chase and still lose. Hopeless loser.
  21. No, I agree for sure. Putting the onus on Southgate though. A proper tactician makes it work.
  22. Unchanged squad isn’t terrible imo. The best players are on the pitch, he just needs to make it work tactically. Hopefully Southgate can do it.
  23. I don’t think our defense is as bad people are saying. Argentina won the World Cup with less impressive defenders. Walker is incredibly good defensively, Stones is one of the best ball-playing cbs in the game, Guehi is very solid (just lacks a bit of areal prowess) and Trippier is a great all-round player that can definitely do a more than serviceable job at lb. Our issues are off the ball in midfield (defending more so but going forward as well) and attacking patterns of play. There needs to be more purpose to how we play and, unfairly or not (arguably you have that much time with players before a tournament), that’s on Southgate.
