If I’m Emery I’m telling him a whole different plan and then switching it up; use it to my advantage. Emery doesn’t have my history of being a footballing mastermind though.

No, I know. The post was aimed at the same people

I get that football is a completely different industry to most but in any company a PO of about 5% of your company’s worth being pushed through in a matter of days is wild to me.

The idea that Saudi Arabia would be ashamed of a women’s football team just doesn’t hold up anymore. A decade ago, sure; women couldn’t even drive. But things have moved forward. Concerted efforts have taken place to enforce women’s rights and empower them; today, over 35 percent of the workforce is female, up from around 17 percent in 2012. Women are running companies, holding public office, and yes, playing international football. The Saudi Women’s Premier League kicked off in 2022, and the national team played its first FIFA-recognised match that same year. I get that it’s a bit like taking your kid to Disneyland after years of neglect and yes, there’s still loads of ground to cover, but it’s moving in a positive direction here.

People really wanting us to go toe-to-toe with Bayern for a German player after the summer we’re having
-
It’s never just straightforward is it…
-
Depends on what you mean by ‘improve us’. If you’re talking about someone better than Isak; realistically, no one. But if you mean someone who can fill the gap when he’s unavailable, there are still a few quality options out there, though most are getting on in age.

40m for Mateta seems like a no brainer. Maybe not the most forward-thinking signing but, again, the guy’s profile is as Eddie-coded as it gets.
-
Not a believer in inflation?
-
Really like this. Probably overpaying here but he’s a huge Longstaff upgrade.
-
40m isn’t buying the dip, like .
-
If we’re buying the dip like before and the price is right then it could be brilliant business. Ramsey’s drive, energy and athleticism would add a real spark alongside Bruno and Tonali. He’s a far better player than Willock and just feels like an Eddie player too Obviously the key caveat is his fitness; if he can stay injury-free, he’d be a great asset for us imo.
-
He’s better than Willock for sure. Way more between the ears for one. Injuries are a bit of a concern but given a run of games and some choice Howe coaching, I don’t see why he can’t be as good someone like Rogers.
-
Inb4: Isak to Real Madrid.
-
Just two years ago, many Milan fans were heralding this kid as the next big thing weren’t they? While injury setbacks and adapting to a new manager have slowed his progress, I think with sustained game-time and focused coaching to sharpen his concentration, he has the potential to develop into a very good player. Cant wait to see what he brings to us now and what Eddie can bring out of him.

Not really we just made UCL by keeping our more established stars. Would have been a far greater negative impact by not qualifying due to points deductions.

While I may not fully agree with this stance, I think Howe places a strong emphasis on maintaining unity within the squad and would be willing to let him go, even at a slight discount, provided we can bring in a suitable replacement in time. In contrast, my sense (and I’m only inferring here) is that the ownership see this as a serious optics issue. Giving in to his demands and allowing Liverpool to dictate terms would signal weakness, so they are standing firm on principle, and rightly so imo.
