  1. Holy shit, LIV merging with the PGA Tour.
  2. In the last 3 seasons ASM has been unavailable for 218 days. Tierney has been unavailable for 197. Why is £30M too much for him but not enough for the other (assuming your concerns are injury related and not talent)?
  3. I'd be totally happy if he's here and I'd love to see him play in the Champions League for us. Other than the ravings of one person I don't think anyone is suggesting he's not good or must be sold at any cost. But if we accept we have some FFP related budget limitations and that we could get £30-35M for him are you taking the ASM side in any of these...? ASM or Tierney - Same price, both with availability issues; give me the LB with a higher ceiling ASM + £5-10M or Maddison - Maddison for me ASM or Arda Guler + £15M - Guler's world class potential Obviously we could keep ASM and do a number of deals anyway, but selling him would unlock something. And if selling him gets us either a player with more potential or a player that Howe feels better fits our system then it'd be silly not to do it.
  4. Semi-interesting that his #1 player comp on fbref is Rayan Cherki, who we've been linked with.
  5. There are players who have been genuinely terrible for us that didn't get this level of vitriol.
  6. Geremi is the only one that isn't an immediate entry on my least favorite XI. Smith seemed like he was stealing a wage from the beginning. Butt we'd have to watch some awful performance and then read about how he was every pundits MOTM and awarded bonus points on FPL. At least he provided the greatest overhead kick of all time. When I picture Jack Colback I picture him celebrating against us as a mackem despite him playing for us for three years.
  7. Only true if Eddie Howe thinks ASM is our starting LW and that Big Joe/Gordon (plus anyone we buy primarily for the right) would not be sufficient. I think it's very likely neither is true.
  8. Anyone significant missing from this in terms of recent links that seem to have some amount of substance to them? I know some are unlikely or maybe even already ruled out (like Phillips and Veiga), but trying to get a sense of the overall picture. AM/CM Dominik Szoboszlai - £60.3M (release clause) James Maddison - ~£40M Rayan Cherki - £40-45M Arda Guler - £17.3M (release clause) CM Kalvin Phillips - £40-45M Romeo Lavia - ~£40M Scott McTominay - £40M? Gabri Veiga - £35M (release clause) LB Kieran Tierney - ~£30M CB Kim Min-Jae - £51M (release clause)
  9. There's an actual rule against it, no?
  10. PSG losing a player they thought they had done because another club made an offer that included an ownership stake in the selling club? They have every right to be pissed.
  11. Good, I hope everyone starts to turn on Chelsea.
  12. Easily one of my three favorite players in the Ashley era. I love that he has a goal that will live on for decades because most of what he did will not be in highlight videos, but at this peak he was really excellent for us.
  13. They'll get their top targets and outspend us. Then after we beat them at Anfield Klopp will rant about how his little club cannot compete in these conditions.
  14. I read they have reached a deal with the Gaudi family and Spotify to extend naming rights to La Sagrada Familia through 2053.
  15. I agree, I don't think we're going to change the way we play much at all. A huge part of our game will still be predicated on "running around." It's why (a fit) Gordon is going to be a big part of our plans.
  16. Pretty sure they did but you can still give out longer contracts. They are just capped at 5 years for FFP calculations.
  17. 75% of them against one of the Manchester clubs or Liverpool. That is shit, though I wouldn’t mind it so much now.
  18. How could that be allowed?
  19. Going to be really annoyed if they get Szoboszlai.
  20. There is good fortune or outright luck behind most success stories. If Barnes and Noble had built an operationally efficient online store in the late 90s then Amazon probably doesn’t exist. If Blockbuster had done just one of a few things differently Netflix likely goes out of business. Nike is a very different company if Michael Jordan doesn’t become the greatest basketball player of all time.
  21. The lopsidedness almost works better. It’s more like a big amphitheater than the usual stadium setup. Not sure about the sound though?

Neither one helps but people wrongly assume with all sorts of things that NYC = lots of people = big crowds. It’s the same problem for any college team in the NY area trying to break through. It’s the Yankees, Giants, Jets, Mets/Knicks, Nets, and Rangers first, plus a million other things happening in the city on a daily basis (or people getting out of the city in the summer). I think they will do much better in Queens, but it will be interesting to see after what I’m guessing will be an initial honeymoon phase.
  23. And to be clear seeing Messi in a Newcastle shirt would be unreal. It’s hard to even imagine and this is not even about him. I’m honestly glad FFP exists despite how rigged it is. I’m kind of happy we can’t just go spend Saudi billions on Bellingham, Vini Jr, Rice, and Osimhen in one window even though we’d be awesome. I find what’s happening right now far more enjoyable.
