Feeling the sense of pride in where you come from, along with all your fellow Geordies (or wherever you're from).

If I'm totally honest I don't believe that the majority of our players just couldn't be arsed. I just think they didn't have the confidence or determination to do better than they were. Players like Nolan, Butt, Owen, Viduka, Barton, etc, etc are all has beens- they've already had the best part of their careers. Now they either aren't fit enough or good enough to keep up with the pace or physical ability of modern day football. Our problem isn't just this - it's also that we appear to have a team pretty much full of people who have probably always had some degree of talent but no footballing brain. It's just the younger, hungry members of our squad who are worth playing because they have it all ahead of them and now is the time for their big break. The only player I actually exclude from this is Habib Beye. I think it's something that many people have just jumped on the bandwagon with - this whole "They couldn't be arsed" theory. They could be arsed but they weren't physically capable imo. The only people, as a result, to blame for the poor acquisition of players are those above playing level. Yes, the players have to take the brunt of the blame too because ultimately it's them who have cost us, but at the end of the day 11 individuals don't make a team - no matter how good they are, they need to be managed, and management and leadership is what we lacked all last season.
-
Spot on and I will put money on us getting more from other players too, thing is this will go from act now please, to right we are off. Who's going to negotiate their deals? If you believe the chat about nobody being left at St James' they'll be lumbered on their current contracts until we've a buyer and/or manager. Poor souls. Hence my point about some of them having a far more personal agenda than being seen as 'Shepherds'. Personal agenda or not these people are leading those who are too shy or too fragile. If they get fucked off I don't think the fans could care less as long as we see some form of moving forward as a unit. This was never about individuals, and it never will be. It's about Newcastle becoming United again. However, that can't happen until the sale of the club is complete - the only thing we as fans and the players have to cling onto is one another. So whether it's fat arse Nolan, Ginger git Butt or Sebastian Superstar Bassong is irrellevant, the fact the players are uniting is what's important.

Despite agreeing that Nolan has done fuck all for us I think that certain players are taking it upon themselves to lead the rest through this mess and I give them credit for that. We lack leadership at the moment and some of our players are becoming shepherds not sheep. This can only be for the better providing they continue to show this level of desire. Shearer may not be a master tactician but I think he's certaintly made players think twice about what they do at this club.

Mint. Trains are the way forward like. Up from where?

That wouldn't necessarily mean anything about Shola though. It's our midfield that our hideously shit.
-
Not yet. Just ordered them last Wednesday or something though. Ah, perhaps they've not been sent out yet then. On the usual timescale you'd have yours by now. Cheers. Aye. How are you geting down there?

Shola can be our new number 9.

I said to a lad at work yesterday, scoring against the likes of Blackpool at home won't provide much of a "f***ing get in" go mental sort of scenario like it does in the Premiership. It might like (I've never experienced the 2nd division), but for some reason I think it'll be like a "meh, so what - we should be beating these sorts of teams" type of attitude. Or is that just me? I might be totally different when the league starts but I currently feel like that is the way it will feel.
-
The money we have spent since Sir Bob left has also won us nothing, if anything it's put us in a worse position now we've been relegated.
-
Oh well, cheers for your help hinny.

No. Bollocks. Not even highlights?

Is this televised or owt...

Sounds like another journalistic heap to me.

Fair point. However, I would argue that seeing them in such high spirits is still a bit of a piss take - given that these fuckers were just as much to blame as anyone last year. Fans are forking out their hard-earned cash in jobs they probably despise, when they could probably do with the money just to survive on in this current time of recession. The whole future of everyone at the club and even the club itself is in the balance at the moment and the championship cannot be underestimated. I feel like this pre-season could be a massive eye-opener for everyone at the club and I don't think we'll do particularly well. Not unless the background staff manage to motivate these mongshafts somehow. The best chance we have of doing well is by using our youngsters in my opinion, mixed with one or two of our better experienced players i.e. Beye and that's probably it. I understand that everyone has a laugh at work and stuff and to them it is work - it's still annoying and cringeworthy when you see those pictures and the comments though. I'm starting to get well and truelly fucked off with the club now, I really am. It actually hit home today at work when one of those from the dark side made a daft throw-away comment saying we weren't true supporters because we'd cancelled our sky sports, etc. I knew he was just bating me but it actually fucked me off - knowing I'd just paid for my season ticket for these useless arseholes. What's even worse is Ashley will fuck off with my season ticket money when he eventually sells up and I won't benefit the club in any way other than turning up and shouting and balling which didn't appear to do fuck all to motivate them last year. I still will though - why change the habits of a lifetime. Then just to put the icing ont he cake our first game of the season away to West Brom is televised and we're playign in our new solero strip which will make us look like right fucksticks. I bet some fat, slobby bastard has one on and they highlight him in the crowd, just to make us look even more spaztastic. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
-
Especially since the chances of most of them being here come September are nil. The likes of Coloccini you might as well leave at home and save the hotel bills (actually Ashley's probably already got them staying in tents for that very purpose). It's funny you should say that before I was thinking "Why didn't they use RyanAir?"

I can vouch for Heza, very good player (I'm the clown that missed the open goal on Tuesday night mate.) Cheers mate, Tom had mentioned it but I couldn't remember if he said you were Wullie so I didn't want to mention it haha. Your miss could have happened to anyone to be fair - especially when everything happens so quick. Do you normally play in these N-O matches? I actually live just down the road from Coach Lane campus too so I could just walk up and play... We've only had three so far but I've played in them all, yeah. You're more than welcome, just stick your name down when we start the thread about the next game. Mint. I will do mate.

I don't know why but seeing them come off that plane, etc in a happy manner really fucks me off...
