agree, even though harper is probs one of the best keepers in the championship he is so slow and laid back ive never seen the bloke run. That said Krul has let at least one poor goal in each time he started in the cup games. also not sure we should be giving young players in key positions that many chances this season, we need out this league this season, we are not conceding goals so why tamper with it, it might cost us Krul but getting promotion is more important

Agree with that, he seems the only player left in the team thats just here for the cash and his performances this season have shown this IMO, the likes of Butt and Geremi have maybe been worse than him but thats cos there shit, Barton has a lot more in him than hes shown so far. We have to play 2 up front at home to Plymouth on sat, Carroll goal aside was hopeless on his own gives nothing, has no control on his heading from long balls up to him 9 times out of 10, if we are going to play him there the balls have to be to his feet or on his chest as usually he does not waste many of those.

as yet he doesn't do flick ons anyway. he wins headers with no idea where they're going. most the time it would be the same effect if the defender won the header. he has time though and it may come with experience. Can't remember him getting much to his feet, everything just seemed to be sent up to his head, his rare touches were just short balls for Butt to launch into the corners. Also carroll seemed to have a nightmare trying to stay onside all night how was his play on the deck tonight ? back end of last season whilst not looking elegent on the ball he was effective and was much improved.

Poor performance for the whole 90mins, think the players had the same mental thinking as most our fans at the game "it's only blackpool" and as expected they were up for it as though it was a cup final. Playing Carroll as a target man on his own is crazy, flicking balls on to no body and when he got support he rarely had any control of where his flick ons go, at least if you play ranger on his own he can hold the ball up, tonite just saw possession lost very easy which lead to our defence being under pressure all night. As poor as we were we still could have got something from the game, just to slow with the final ball or the shot, so guess that can be seen as a positive while playing so bad

Great to see him playing along side his dad last night. Thought he had a good 2nd half, as said his positional play was not great but was looking tierd 2nd half and Harper and Geremi seemed to keep shouting at him and getting him in position. Wouldnt say he didnt have a footballing brain, he put players making runs forward in for clear shots at least 3 times, would have liked to have seen him shoot at least once from those rather than pass but looked like he was just trying to do the right thing for the team Overall he looks very raw and id play Carroll and Ameobi ahead of him everytime, but will be a usefull player in this league at least based on what we have seen so far.

If losing him from the wage bill means someone like Enrique stays then great, Think people are forgetting we need to get rid of big earners, we have got rid of players thant wanted to leave Beye,Duff etc and we must be down to either selling the players with any value ie Taylor OR offload some of the crap that no one wants.
