  1. Bruce quite often has cuts and bruises on his face, is it his wife?
  2. if thats right i cant see ours changing at all, we sit about mid table in that lot
  3. Did you see Tony Adams on SSN?, after he was sacked at pompy he said Wenger rang and left a msg on his mobile saying "your a great great manager tony" , the guy interviewing him said do you still have it on your phone and Tony Adams stuttered a bit then said err no that phone broke
  4. put him back in a big stadium and the real Bramble will be back at his comedy best Sunderland will make a £5m bid for Wigan defender Titus Bramble, once Steve Bruce is installed as manager. (Daily Star)

    RIP sale thread.

i thought that myself but then thought i am sure tom, dick or harry could do far better than Ashley.

    RIP sale thread.

but hes not really doing it as a good will thing, if he wants to sell the club he HAS to write it off , as i said above no one will buy a championship club which needs 15-20m spent on the team to have a chance of promotion for 80m + 100m of debt, he asks for that price he wont sell it and his loss will keep growing, hes just taking the loss now as will only get worse for him. You are probably right I just feel that the there would be parties interested even with the debt, but by scrapping it he's doing us a huge favour. In fact say it does happen, and we get all the high earners off the wage bill financially the club will probably be stronger in the Championship than it has been limping on in the Premiership. Wiping out all of Freddies financial mistakes, now the next owner just has to wipe out Ashley's emotional/naive decision making. yeah it does us both a favor, Ashley cant afford/wont spend any more money on the club so stick with him we are going no where fast, at least the club is now available at a fair price and has no debt so anyone coming in who has a fair amount of cash and is willing to spend it has the chance to take the club forward alot faster.

Fair play to him for writing the debt off, but he has to really, no one is going to buy a championship club for 80-100m thats also in 100m of debt, and hes only going to lose more money hanging onto it.
  9. wish the media would fuck off, why are they out to shit stir a championship club, go bother one of the big boys, wigan or burnley or someone!
  10. its probs taking so long as thes more to discuss than just the managers job, they said they were sitting down and talking about how to move the club forward etc..
  11. 4 loans would be a bit of a risk unless there the type that are likely to sign for you once the loan ends, i know loan players always want to prove there selves but at the end of the day they know there leaving in 6 months and heading back to the likes of liverpool, arsenal etc so would doubt there heart is really in it, 1 or 2 loans maybe but not a 3rd of the team.
  12. Is that a joke? God I hope so. We need someone to do what Morgan does for Sheff Utd is how I read it. And he's spot on too. We need a true leader in the back 4 to organise things and deal with the physical stuff we're going to encounter. To pretend we can just keep the same squad and just play our way out of the division is pie in the f***ing sky. We're going to have to fight tooth and nail to compete. Morgan is no leader, he's a thug that should have been thrown out of the league for what he did to Ian Hume. We can still play in this league with class even if we sell our players, you buy cloggers and go up and you'll come straight back down when you ask them to try pass. dont ask them to start passing then - see stoke city we should be building a team that has what it takes to get promoted not a team that we think might do ok in the Premiership. I think whoever we sign will be seen as not good enough as people still are in the mindset that we are a premiership club.
  13. wow, swansea, reading and watford fans in here, no snide remarks to be seen, im loving the championship already

    Peter Løvenkrands

We committed more than anyone else was prepared to at the time, that's why he's here. Not that he's any big loss, I doubt anyone will notice when he's gone. which is probs why hes so keen to start looking for a new job.. unlike the likes of Owen and Viduka he probs dont have the huge fortune to fall back on That's because he's shit. which is what i was getting at, his contracts up, hes not that good, so makes sense to startlooking for a club as soon as possible

  16. agree, as part of the squad for sure, see how they do, wouldnt like to go into next season relying on them though
  17. Like him as a player or not, really dont think Damien Duffs the kind of guy to come out and say this if he was only doing it for the money. he would keep his head down and avoid any attention. we are going to have to accept that we will no longer be able to attract players of a higher standerd than Duff, young players with potential maybe. if the club can affored to pay him and the manager wants him then we would be silly to get rid of him.
  18. "veteran free transfers and the shit that took us down" got me looking forward to next season already !!
  19. Could be worse, it could have read ""Mike and I will sit down with Joe this week to discuss how the Club moves forward again" i really hope we see positive moves as soon as next week, theres no time at all to be wasted, the next 2-3 months are as big as any in the clubs history.

    Starting XI

i thought Beye looked like a player saying goodbye after the Fulham game, id like to see him, bassong taylor and enrique stay the rest can go, one things for sure there will be no shortage of transfers this preseason!
  21. what ever hes doing i just hope he does not fuck about for weeks on end leaving us in limbo again
  22. It won't soften the blow in the slightest, and there'll be a piece of you fuming about the bet if we stay up. I don't know how people can bet against their own team, I did it once, never again. if we stay up I wont give a s**** about the money, i'll be too busy enjoying the best day of my life I have £12 on Chelsea, Gers, Celtic, Barca, Arsenal and Pool, return of about £185 £10 on all the above plus West Ham, and Blackburn for a return of about £650, cant be arsed to check that one and of course £300 for us to go down which will get me a return of £530 should it happen And the prize for the biggest mercenary b****** so far goes to Ronaldo! You're a f***ing disgrace, and don't give me that bollocks that "the money will soften the blow"!!! A true supporter of NUFC could never hope to profit from our relegation. it's costing me in the region of £200 to get the the Villa game tomorrow, probably to see us get relegated. Forgive me if I try to cover my own back should the worst happen £200? Are you hiring your own chauffeur driven Rolls Royce? And no I won't forgive you, or anyone else, who looks to profit from our relegation. The other lad was right, you're a fucking disgrace! And don't let too many of the lads at the game know you've backed us to go down, you might end up getting a good kicking. get a grip you do realise that the bet will have no effect on the outcome of the game and if he wins its not like he will be taking the winnings out of next seasons transfer budget.
  23. Absofuckinglutely. This is key, there is just so much work to do, there is no time for sitting back mauling things over, having a break, then finally making the decision on who will be the permenant manager some time in late June early July. But why do I get the impression that that's exactly what will happen ? aye i want our team to be signed at the start of the season in time for the 1st game, none of this before the transfer window shuts s***, really players should be signed so that they start pre-season training, that gives you better preparation no, no, no, don't you know it's haaaaaard to sign players these days? it can only be done right before the window, apparently If you were a Chairman of a club why would you sell a player a month before the window ends? as opposed to selling him hours before it end and having that amount of time to find a replacement? yep, that's logic for you fact is the clubs willing to spend the money don't f*** about do they? they sign the players at the value(s) asked or walk away if the value is too high and look at another target early doors Like Man U and Berbatov, how many weeks before the end of the window did he sign? oh come on dude, you're not really comparing the situations are you? when they NEED a player, i.e. have a gaping hole in their squad they don't wait until the last day of the window to sign him man u held the power in the berbatov deal 'cause they DIDN'T need him as they'd just pissed the league and hadn't lost any players - all parties knew this including berbatov & ferguson but spurs had to sell as he was going to be a disruptive force in the squad when not given his move we, on the other hand, have massive holes all over our squad that can be filled by vast numbers of players better than we have already - the first asking price too high? move on and get the next guy in for pre-season or wait until the end of the window again, yeah lets have a s***/empty squad again 'cause man u paid a fortune for berbatov near the end of the window, THIS must be the secret to their success All chairmen hold out till the last minute, it makes business sense. Why do you think there's so many transfers at the end of the window? Coincidence? Laziness? Hah. no, no they don't man plenty of deals take place well before the window, i'd easy say 50%+, they just don't make the headlines on super sky sports - wouldn't mind seeing stats on the number of deals done personally again, pay your money you get your player; we're in the shit 'cause we did neither and allowed the system to fuck us a number of times...time to work the system not let the system work us is what i'm saying Its all well doing the "hold out till the last minute, it makes business sense" when your looking to buy Berbatov to add to Rooney,Ronaldo,Tevez etc, but when like us you get to the last day needing players to go right into the 1st team its just stupid and theres no money to be saved as clubs know how desperate you are
  24. I just cant see both Sunderland and Hull winning there games. no point stressing over other clubs potential starting 11s when the most likely scenario is that our starting 11 let us down.
  25. have to say, Pompy and Liverpool did there selves proud with the way they played in there nothing to play for games, Portsmouth especially could have packed in at 1-0 down. Just hope Man Utd and Chelsea ( not villa) show the same attitude
