I love the man and hope he not only performs a miracle and keeps us up, but also that he does indeed stay on and turn out to be a top gaffer. If however we were to look at it logically, he really isnt inpiring at the mo! Strange formations, lots of players out of position, 1 point in 9 with some terrible performances and ultimately not much improvement all round. Shearer was never being brought in for his tatical know-how, rather as our very own William Wallace who was going to come in, grab each and every one of those primadonna claiming to be footballers by the balls and explain to them what this club means to the fans, the city and ultimately to him. This was going to motivate them enough to achieve just enough points to stay in the prem, an achievable objective simply due to the dross around us like smogs and hull. For me this either hasnt happenedor hasnt worked as there were stages yesterday when some of them looked like they couldnt give a s#it. I have never hated a group of footballers at this club more (stand up Mickey O) put down not to their lack of talent, but to their clear lack of effort and interest for the cause. If Wor A cannot motivate them to play for this club, no-one will. They have ultimately failed us, not Al, but I am disappointed but the lack of affect he has had.

Bruce will not manage NUFC while Ashley is in charge - Whelan
wrightstuff83 replied to a topic in Football
Definetly sounds like he wants it! Off the back of DW's comments he should have been further distancing himself from it but really hasnt with comments such as 'if its in you, its in you!' As an earler post said, this sort of petty gripe with DW is likely to make fat mike act now and move for Brucie, rather than our actual state of affais on the pitch. As sad as that is, I just hope its true. Get him in Mike, sound investment and piss off that old slabber in Wigan! -
In fairness I'd dare say most NUFC players, along with most footballers full stop to their fair bit of community work, particularly the ones from the country they play their football, e.g. Nolan. Just hit and miss as to what gets reported and what doesn't. Fair enough point and maybe I'm looking into it too much, but hav we ever seen Owen out in the community? The way I'm feeling at the moment I'll just dissect everything to do with the club as, like everyone, I'm at my lowest ebb! Coming in fom work checking here and sky sports looking for a glimmer of hope that fat mike is at least trying to do something, but instead I read the owner and his cohorts are happy with the current management set up, jesus wept!
-
Fair play to him! Sad to see a guy just signed in January is more willing to go out into the community than some of the over payed bell-ends who have been laughing at us while taking massive wages for years!

NUFC Permanent Manager 09/10 if Kinnear decides to leave
wrightstuff83 replied to a topic in Football
Most depressing part reads in the thread title 'if kinnear decides to leave'! What fooking shape are we in if tat twat can decide his own destiny at our club! For me there is no doubts at all, Steve Bruce is the man or the job. He ticks all boxes for me, no risk factor whatsoever and I honestly believe he would/will take it no matter where we are playing and what the situation is! Fook me I wish fat mike would see sense and throw the money at him now! In saying that i an definetly see the idea behind Martinez! -
Understand the sentiment but no-one is going to openly accept relegation! For the past while Ive been dreading our situation and really am starting to consider our premiership status(particularly when I look at fixture lists!) Myhope was/is that we stay up (just) and somehow, either through sale of ownership or fat mike seeing sense, get Steve Bruce in we really will have a chance to move on as a club. However I have now convincedmyself that even if we wereto go down, Bruce would still come to us. He knows how big this club is and justhow much it means to the fans and city asa whole, he has taken Wigan as far as he can imo and would perhaps see this as his last chance to manage us, his boyhood club. Yes you couldask why would he drop a division, but why stay in the prem with a team bringing in home crowds of 12 odd thousand when you could drop down a division, play in a 52000 seater stadium and potentially win a trophy, thus writing yourself into folklore! I know some might say winning the championship isnt a big deal, but if we were there next season it would mean everything! Thats my positive thinking all used up, meanwhile back in reality we all know the future is
-
Nothing sensible about it! Why release this statement shortly after Butt, Ameobi and Carrol have all signed extensions, yet Bassong is told to wait until the summer? We should be working hard to secure the Bas down on a long term deal and if the dreaded occurs, we can sell at a good price! This club really is a disgrace from top to bottom at the mo, nothing surprises me and my only fear is i really cant see any light at the end of the worlds longest, darkest tunnel!
-
Would love to know what fat mikes thinking now. He clearly bought into us as a profitable project/investment and although the recession blah blah blah he still will surely want to keep the club in the premiership to ensure it is a saleable asset for as long as possible. If so he MUST pay off jfk and bring in someon/anyone now to mange this club away from danger. To start geremi ahead of raylor was bad enough, but to play owen ahead of lovenkrands sums up everything that is wrong with this club. Sh*t mangement, coupled with embarressing decisions (both on and off the pitch) plus an over-relliance on a money grabbing waster to keep us up will take us down. DO SOMETHING NOW ASHLEY!

Have we finally got a player who can put in a decent set-piece?
wrightstuff83 replied to a topic in Football
Long overdue, first since Nobby really! As above, we may now look threatening from dead balls! It has been a point of real frustraition for me that Geremi hasn't delivered what he seems to regularly with Cameroons free kicks! -
Spurs - obvious reasons, plus my spuds mate is so deluded he is buzzing looking forward to todays game, joker! Blackburn - Fat sam, a total c*nt who I find merely looking at difficult! Pompy - They've got some proper players who we could snap up(always wanted Crouch here) plus Adams seems a really terrible manager, along with coming across as a proper tw*t in post match interviews!

If JFK signs that contract, we may as well have a funeral outside St. James rather than a 'boycout' as it really will be the death of this club. I would have no problems with the current set up IF it was working, but it clearly isn't! JFK cannot manage, Wise is doing an awful job as his pupeteer, and the scouting/recruitment team obviously have failed in numerous windows now(none worse than this!) Surely MA needs to keep this club a saleable asset and if so needs to clear the dead wood(both on and off the pitch) bring in a manager who could lead us up the table(safe bet Bruce, cagey but romantic bet Shearer or Ketsbia! Although what more experience do you want than what he has done with his 'small' club!) Just son't that this current idiot near a pen and that contract!

Shay Given signs for Manchester City for £5.9m plus add-ons
wrightstuff83 replied to a topic in Football
yip, timing is terrible but really want Shay to leave on best possible terms. He said a while ago he wanted to go, its agents, cities shitty bids etc. which have delayed this for so long! Now its a reality Im really scared to hear the fee, said all along it would need to be a decent fee plus player/s, gut feeling is a derisery 8.5 mil which we wont even re-invest! Please include Johnson AND Gelson, please! -
Roberts is very under-rated IMO. Pacey, strong player who seems to just play off convidence. Doyle on the other hand is proper over-rated! Re: the Keane situation, I think its best for both parties if he goes this window and I can definetly see whoever gets him getting a great goal return fom a very hungry, quality striker with a major point to prove!
-
If that happens it will have been a tremendous Jan window...provided they are of the right quality of course. Who would you realistically be happy with if those were the three we got in? Outside of centre mids(Mbia, Veloso, Johnson, Gelson) I cannot see who we could/should/will get in! M'Bia/Donadel and Bent would be good signings, I haven't really thought too much about the central defender. Dont know much of Mbia or Donadel but judging by reports would both be good signings, although with Nolan in I think I'd prefare the presence of Mbia. Prob no chance with Bent now, what with Defoes injury and Bents brace today. Centre half and Striker wise I havent a clue who we could get, although I gotta say I am disappointed the Gomis link has completely died! At the moment I cannot think of anyone we could get in apart from players from city in exchange for given, but something in me just says we are gonna pull out a couple of decent, surprize signings! We live in hope!

Shay Given signs for Manchester City for £5.9m plus add-ons
wrightstuff83 replied to a topic in Football
I`m hoping we`re playing hardball and perhaps trying to negotiate a player or loan as part of the deal (Johnson and/or Onuoha/Fernandes).....still think something might happen in that respect especially given the injuries to Barton and Guthrie recently seconded. At this late stage we MUST be trying to get players in the deal! Ive stated before in this thread that Johson should be a must in this deal, and I really want us to get Gelson in now as well, would be ideal to replace Butt. Really doubt we'll spend any dollar we get now so i'd even take Johnson and Gelson in a straight swap plus a wee loan til end of the season for Sturridge or Evans. Please gawd, let it happen! -
As much as that metro story is a crock of shit, I would love to see Darren Bent here! Needs a move and needs a confidence boost, get him in our side playing off Carroll and with a big point to prove, I think we would be onto a winner! If the Veloso move is a goer im happy to but believe we really need Mbia in as well, our midfield is simply brutal and will fail to keep us up!

West Ham aren't exactly in financial utopia! Bellamy wanted out as well, even 'rumoured' to have said goodbye to teammates before the deal was done! They got 14 mil for a 29 year old striker with a couple of good years left in him max, and they played very little hardball! We are getting offered 5 mil for one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the league who has at least 5 top quality years ahead! We have every right to expect more, however at this stage, and with the injuries(and performance) last night it is essential to get some players involved, along with cash! With Barton out Johnson, Gelson or maybe both would be a good deal, and I would also like to see us try for a wee loan deal involving Sturridge or even Evans. Staying near the pc hoping for this situation to be sorted today/tonight plust at least one signing, expecting to be disappointed.
