err....no, Big Sam! I've watched Beye for years and I've always felt he could do a job on the wing as he is good going forward and can defend as well. I'm not suggesting it should become his position, I'm just saying it would be interesting to see how he played there.

As poor as some of our performances were under Allardyce, it seems that the two fullbacks he brought in were great business. Enrique is getting better and better, every week. He looked very strong today and he was not afraid to try things which may not have paid off. I do feel his passing must get better if he is to take his game up a level, but what a player we have for the future.

Another quality performance, I'd now like to see him play in right-midfield (in a 4-4-2).

We've got to move for Diego in my opinion. Some of the world's biggest clubs e.g. Real Madrid, Inter and Juventus are going to be interested in him but he might not necessarily be a priority signing for these clubs. We can't offer Champions League football, but a player like him could make getting back to that level a possibility. Apparently, he is available for £18 million. Worth a try surely?

I'd like to see us go for Zarate. Looks like he's going to be the player that will keep Birmingham up, much like Tevez last season.

Ferdinand Coly.. their captain for wc2006 i think Also, Omar Daf a left back had played in Beye's position for Senegal on a few occasions. I have read an article in France about Beye, this was around 5 years ago when apparently Beye (not said in the press by himself) found race to be an issue concerning his place in the team.

Boumsong really was and still is an interesting player in his own right. When we signed him, we had high expectations as he had turned into one of the best if not the best defender in Scottish football at the time. Yet, when he came to us he was outstandingly poor. He clearly could not adapt to the pace and intelligence of the Premiership, that's all I ever really saw about him through his passionless and mistake ridden performances. He did well at Juventus last season playing most of the season well and even scoring a few goals, clearly he isn't at the standard that the Juventus defence needs to be at and is playing quite regularly at Lyon. In Lyon's home leg against Man Utd (1-1) Boumsong got man of the match. I still can't see what he is. Is he simply another Titus Bramble who can play solidly for a significant amount of time and then have an absolute horror show?

That's got to be the one.

The point I tried to prove exactly. He's been good, but not one of the best right-backs in the league. We see him as better than he actually has been because he is one of the few positives we can draw from this season. I just hope he still has it in him.

Shay is a player who has been loyal to us over the years (I'm sure he's had offers)and I think it would be a great shame if we didn't show the same loyalty.

I think Metzelder would be a brilliant signing. I know he hasn't played a lot this season, but personally I always saw him as a gift for Schuster (due to the fact they are both German) and after they shelled out almost £20m for Pepe I couldn't see Metzelder getting a chance in the team. He has only made 7 league appearances this season and probably lacks the sharpness which he exhibited for years at Dortmund and after the last World Cup I think a lot of us could tell he is a top class defender ... only 27 too. Personally, I think Metzelder should be made a high priority signing. I don't know a lot about Boussoufa, but I do know he is small, weak and injury prone. These three attributes, so to speak would inhibit us further.
