He'll be crocked

Life time contract. Now.
-
He's prepared to lose before his team has even gotten on the pitch!

If he has to go I certainly hope freeing up his wages helps us get Roux and Pieters in (maybe Bassong too).
-
Which positions will we fill by the end of the transfer window?

We'll be signing a new hole borer (bore holer?) any minute now... -
Good luck to you, Joey.

We can't get a LB or a striker in. What would make anyone think we could get Barnetta in? All we'll get from Barnetta is another complaint to FIFA!
-
maybe not daft but then again... Ashley has determined that he will pay all transfer fees in full. However, when a player is purchased by installments is interest charged? I mean, if the clubs agree that the player is worth 11M and the buyer wants to pay over 4 years will they agree upon, say, 12M over the 4 years or will it still remain 11M over the 4 years? I would think a club would welcome a buyer that wants to pay in full and collect their money in one big chunk rather than smaller payments.

Pardew. Fat Bastard will make him a scapegoat for the lack of movement in the transfer market even though it's Fat Bastard's fault.
-
I'd be happy with Pieters/Cissokho, Maiga and Bassong. Signing Colo to a new deal would send me over the moon.
-
The borehole has won a national award? No, the borehole struck oil. Ashley will be a Gazillionaire..
-
Cissokho, Maiga and to set the club up well, Bassong is rumored to be off to Bursaspor for 2M. Get those three and let's go to war.

did the club bid more than a 100K? -
The kid has all the tools to be a success.

Damn. Pardew couldn't say it better himself. I'll be shocked if he doesn't say this...

one of the better games Saylor has had in a while.

That cross was awesome

I'm happy with the point. I thought Colo was immense and read the game very well. He seemed to always be in the right place. I also thought Steven Taylor played well. Simpson did OK too and Raylor didn't embarrass himself but we need a LB yesterday. Cabaye and Tiote will be solid in the middle of the park and my well be one of the best MF tandems before this year is out. Barton was shit although I was laughing when Gervinho go the red and all the Gooners were hugging Barton after the game. Krul played well but still does one or two things every match that make you scratch your head. I hope he's not going to be like Almunia in that respect. Jonas was OK and Obertan looked sharp a couple of times but doesn't appear to do much off the ball. I don't know why Pardew played Shola and Ba together up front and no one ever tried to cross and then I thought his subs were odd, too. It still looks like Pardew is still trying to figure out what he has and how best to use it. -
maybe Smudger could teach him how to avoid those pesky cards and bans...

I just turned 50. I've been following sports for 40 years. I stood by helplessly and watched Joe Namath get traded. I watched Tom Seaver (The Franchise) get traded for the most arrogant of reasons. As I've grown older I've seen more players that I admired, some I even loved, either get cast away or run away for sometimes the smallest of pittances. I'm to the point where I am loath to root for players anymore. I root for the uniform. Whoever happens to be wearing it today is who I'm a fan of, I guess. It's not the way I want it to be. I am also convinced that neither the owner nor the player share the same passion as the supporter. So, fuck 'em. That being said, I hope the squad beat the snot out of Arsenal Saturday.

He likes apples. Always a plus in my book.

It's like a new signing!

What are your connections to professional football?

Shep Messing spoke at a dinner for my high school (soccer) team. He had arrived directly after doing a photo shoot with Cheryl Tiegs. After the dinner he regaled us with descriptions of how great her rack was. I tried to partner with Barry Moat when he attempted to buy the club from Fat Bastard. When I finally figured out I'd never understand a word Mr Moat said (he talks very fast) I began to fax Fat Bastard my own offers for the club. To this date he has ignored me. However, Derek Lliambas has mailed me a coupon for a complimentary pie should I ever be able to attend a game.
