  1. GK: Green, James, Robinson DF: Terry, Upson, Ferdinand, Bridge, A.Cole, G.Johnson, Lescott, Jagielka MF: Lampard, Gerrard, Lennon, Barry, Carrick, J.Cole, Walcott ST: Rooney, Crouch, Heskey, Defoe that would be my squad at the moment. I think taking Walcott gives you cover on both the right wing and upfront. That, and I don't think Beckham or SWP is worth a place. My "reserve" squad (they usually name one, don't they?) would be: Kirkland, Agbonlahor, A.Young, G.Cahill, Warnock and Huddlestone.
  2. Personally, I'd take Crouch ahead of Agbonlahor. However, if you were taking 5 strikers then Agbonlahor would be the fifth. I have an awful feeling that he might take Carlton Cole though.
  3. Having watched the montage of Burley's tenure as Scotland coach on SSN, it reminds me SO much of the McClaren era error with England. I'll never get tired of watching that Iwelumo miss.
  4. The selection of strikers in 06 was horrible though, truly awful. A barely fit Owen, an out of form Rooney, the totally inexperienced Walcott and Peter Crouch (fine). We even ended up using Joe Cole as a striker, I think.
  5. George Burley sacked as Scotland manager. Good move.
  6. that bit when Sherman is hanging off the roof in his underpants. "YOU insultred Macgyver, didn't you?"
  7. 1) Pancrate plays on the wing, or upfront. 2) Bramble and Bassong were defenders. 3) Bassong and Bramble had totally different scales of success when they were here, so grouping them together makes no sense at all. 4) Both of those players cost us a transfer fee. 5) "guna b" 6) "brambel" if anyone else can find anything else wrong with that rather baffling post, feel free to add to that list.

    Future Managers

He'd also be the first manager to wear flip-flops on the touchline. He would also have all of his substitues warming up on exercise bikes, eating apples.
  9. I signed Tamudo for Chelsea on FM06, he scored a shit load.
  10. Hargreaves was indeed excellent in 06. He went in hated by all quarters, and came out as one of about three players who could hold their heads up and were praised by the media.
  11. SSN ZOMG YELLOW TICKER "France defender Eric Abidal to miss World Cup play-off second leg against The Country Decky Likes due to injury."

  13. To be honest, we're hardly in a position to be picky. For now, I'll take bodies.
  14. Tranmere supposedly going to give Ferguson their gig.
  15. Might as well kneecap him now then if he couldn't find his way past Jay DeMerit.
  16. Good one mate The losing streak I've been on was just insane really, been weeks since I won anything, and I've lost pretty much all my previous winnings from this season. Recently, apart from that 4 home team one I won yesterday, every home banker team has lost or drawn on me, and the outsider bets I've used to bump up the winnings have all won. So annoying. Lumping on Brazil was a good idea too.
  17. Yeah, about £89 up this weekend. Not bad going.
  18. Most of the Chelsea fans seem to rate him quite highly. I can't understand why, he has nothing going for him.
  19. Obi Mikel is shite though, pretty much everyone bar the Chelsea staff seem to realise that. He can't pass, tackle, shoot, or head. Most top quality centre-mids can do at least three of those four things really well.
  20. I've just had a text from my mate, who reckons Shearer and Keegan are coming in as a management pair, and that Vialli is going to be director of football. Sounds good.
  21. Baffled as to why Huddlestone didn't start.
