  1. Pass completion and ball retention dismissed as 'bland and wet' what fucking drivel.
  2. I am so so certain that we will concede first and early in this fixture, it just seems to be the case in our 'easier' away trips. As for what happens after that...
  3. Willo had a good game but he is still woefully short of what we need long term. The same goes for Taylor who is also not the answer by any means.
  4. When the ball gets played to a target man's feet, with his back to goal, and he just pops it first time round the corner to an onrushing winger. Love that.
  5. I got it even if nobody else did.
  6. Plymouth are 8/11 to beat 1-point-from-8-games Accrington at home today. Gone for Plymouth, Lincoln, Watford, Crewe, Leyton Orient and QPR acca. Also all the 3pm Championship teams to score as usual. (9 games/18 teams)

there are some things football could learn from rugby, I pointed out one, i'd also put in respctful behaviour to officials. My problem with that debate is how far it gets taken, like the example I gave earlier. Rugby players can't even appeal for a decision politely, which as a football player I'm sure most would agree sticking your hand up and going "ours" is a pretty instinctive thing to do. As for respectful behaviour towards officials - I personally have no trouble doing that during a football match, but if they're consistently shit, I can't help but moan and shoot my mouth off a bit.
  8. Haidara's defensive performance in that Liverpool home game was probably worse than some of the shittest ones I've ever seen from our lot. It was like watching Huntington away at Alkmaar again, that bad.

madras has actually highlighted one for me there - whenever people compare the rules/conduct codes etc of football to that of rugby. The idea that you could theoretically be booked for putting your arm up and calling "ours" or whatever when the ball goes out for a throw, which I've seen debated on here before, is an absolutely ludicrous one. Yes, players do too much surrounding the ref and too much shouting and balling at the officials - but officials in football are largely piss poor and very much influenced by the crowds IMO, so I don't take the whole 'Respect' thing too seriously. Referees are immune to criticism from players, coaches and managers (well, there's sanctions for them) and aren't allowed to explain/justify/apologise in the press afterwards, so a little bit of shit from the players they've just conned out of a penalty or a blatant foul is fair enough tbh. Rugby is a totally different sport, the only real similarity is that it's played with some sort of ball on a similar sized field.

Imagine if they appointed Bally as the fucking coach. Be like the whole Sbragia situation all over again: a farce, so let's fucking have it!

    Paul Dummett

I would persevere with Debuchy and Santon for the time being but Dummett needs to be getting all the cup games and some sub time in the league if its appropriate. Give it another 6-8 weeks and Debuchy will either have improved or been dropped IMO.
  13. I liked Moritz Volz and Paul Stalteri, both incredibly underrated fullbacks when they were at Fulham and Spurs respectively IMO.

Have a hunch they'll go for Neil Lennon, actually.

McLeish, Pulis, Curbishley or Megson? Or as I like to think of them; the four pillars of relegation.
  16. I would like to point out that in pretty much every PL season in living memory, regardless of how we fared over the 38 games, we've been turned over at home by a promoted side, normally about 5-8 games into the season. Not that this is any excuse, but we always seem to have one of these. I looked at this game on fixture release day and immediately had it down as a defeat or a draw at best.

  18. Debuchy and Cisse to blame for that. Kind of went straight past Krul anarl.
