  1. Their most exciting news appears to be McClaren talking on the phone. Thrilling stuff. It's absolutely pathetic how much Downie is trying to peddle this. He could have been on the phone to his Mrs ffs.
  2. Well in pounds it's £36m It's more than that according to the French media.

    Steve McClaren

But from what I can gather, SMc hasn't played defensive football since he went to Holland. Fair enough but I haven't seen it yet. I'm drawing no conclusions except we haven't loooked like scoring thus far. Isn't that a conclusion you've just drawn?
  4. Anyone who thinks that is indefensible needs to stop watching football and start watching badminton.
  5. if we're not signing someone we know is going to be good then i'd rather spend the remaining window getting rid of williamson, gouffran and obertan and going with taylor, colo, mbemba, dummet and lascelles for CB until january by which time we'll hopefully have found a contract loophole to exploit or the euro might be further on it's arse by then It wouldn't be a disaster if we didn't get rid of these players, just need to make sure that they are not the first names down on the Team Sheet. Obvs getting rid would be ideal, but to be fair, they wouldn't be completely disastrous 3rd choice players.... They would like. I don't want either of them to pull on a black and white shirt ever again.
  6. Sorry, but in the circumstances we faced last night, this is laughably ridiculous. Wait - are we taking the cup runs seriously or are we playing the kids? I'm confused. Not picking on either Lotus or Liam here.....because hindsight is a wonderful thing. This time we played a small team and won easily. Last season we played Peterborough and lost. I do wish that we would push Kemen into some serious game time if he is worth it, and perhaps the Cup games are the way to do it. But its also a risk and we have been banging on about taking the cup runs seriously. Playing one young lad (French U19 captain so hardly unexposed) in a team of senior players would have been absolutely fine, especially over someone playing out of position who's never likely to play for us again.
  7. Neil Custis adamant Man Utd weren't in for Pedro but actually want Neymar.
  8. Going down to London next week. Hoping to catch a glimpse of Chelsea training in Trafalgar Square.
  9. No, he doesn't. Yeah, he didn't actually land on Taylor otherwise I think he would have been off. He missed his leg whether purposely or not I can't say. The way I viewed it was that he was trying to get his body between the ball and the man but brought his foot down in a way that could have been dangerous had he made contact with Taylor.
  10. Gets fouled and then gets pushed twice. Mike Jones straight in to book him but doesn't care about what Neil Taylor did.
  11. Had to bite the bullet and use my wildcard. Far too many underperformers and players I just don't see getting me any points in the near future other than Rooney who will no doubt rediscover his form against us at the weekend.

Why do we seem to find it difficult to conduct a medical on the same day that somebody flies into the country?
  13. Mitigated a bad weekend. F'ing S'hampton. Great work Beren. What price did you get?
  14. Hopefully Sherwood wants some English steel in his defence. Steven Taylor's a canny larker.
  15. That'd be ace to know if we were a running club and not a football club.
  16. Denied by his 'entourage' yesterday.
  17. The current squad as it stands is probably just two injuries away from being right in the mix for relegation. Grim.
  18. One of the focal points of the AshleyOut protests was 'we don't demand a team that wins, we demand a team that tries'. Obviously there's a line but even still people need to make up their mind over what they want. Running around like Captain Fistpumps isn't a way of proving you're trying. No one says it is. Taylor can piss off for all I care, but Colback I actually think has some ability... not the greatest in the world, but brings something to the table that is a little different to our other CMs. My point is you don't always define trying by kissing the badge, etc. It's impossible to argue that he gave anything other than 100% last season. Nothing to do with kissing the badge or fist-pumping, don't see why genuine effort from a player is constantly undermined with nonsense like this. Madras is spot on. Erm, where did I say Colback didn't give 100%?
