  1. Downing that pint so quickly was pretty cool.

    RIP sale thread.

When I first heard about Ashley wanting to sell last night, it left me with mixed emotions. Although the long-term future of the club is more important, at this moment in time, I'm only concerned with the short-term. I was hoping that Ashley would keep Shearer on for the time being, allowing him to do what he needs to do with the squad and would also back him in the transfer market (whether that be him actually giving him money to spend or allowing Shearer to use any transfer fees for players we offload). I've left the most significant paragraph from the Caulkin article, in my opinion anyway, above. This to me suggests that maybe something along those lines has actually been agreed between Ashley and Shearer. If it has, it would be brilliant. Shearer cracks on with the rebuilding job, working with funds of some sort whilst Ashley within (hopefully) a month or so is gone, but with the squad looking in hugely better shape for next season.

    RIP sale thread.

Not a clue what to make of this, so many questions I'd love to know the answers to.
  4. What a bottleless cunt Howard Webb is. How hasn't he booked Essien for that? Disgraceful.

    Nile Ranger

Awesome stuff, well done Nile. I bet he's really buzzing now.

    Loans.

Nevermind PL, I think we could lure that Nacho Gonzalez lad from Valencia.

I'm shocked that Nile's 'buzzing'. Definitely his favourite word.
  8. Paid up for three years but would be renewing anyway.
  9. Cracking list is that. Only a couple that I don't know much about. If we sign Gomez, I'll be delighted. I wanted us to try and sign him even if we stayed up. Away from the more well known names on the list, Cox from Swindon is one player I really hope we've been keeping tabs on. Leandro Grimi is average like really average and would probably get battered. Some of those are good shouts mind. He's one of the ones that I don't know too much about. I'd also be questioning why he'd be willing to sign for us.

Cheers binnsy. From what I've seen of Tavernier, he does look quite promising; agree with everything you've said about him. Love the way he bombs forward but definitely looks a little raw when defending, nothing that cannot be worked on though.
  12. West Brom Middlesbrough Sheff Utd Reading Preston Cardiff Swansea Ipswich Bristol City QPR Sheff Wed Watford Doncaster Crystal Palace Blackpool Coventry Derby Nottm Forest Barnsley Plymouth Leicester Peterborough Scunthorpe I'll be going to those (as long as the fixture list is kind). Will consider Cardiff if it isn't around the same time we play Swansea. Will also consider West Brom, Reading, Ipswich and Watford too. I stupidly want to make the trip to Plymouth but that will depend on having someone come with me. A bit of a trek to make on my own!
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/robborobson/2009/05/my_nightmare_clockwatch.html Some little gems in there.
  14. The front page of the Hull Daily Mail today contains the header 'UP THE VILLA'. They've also got a two-page spread about cheering Villa on, numerous pictures of a guy dressed as a tiger inside Villa Park holding up a sign that reads 'Tigers say...Come on Villa!' and finally, they've got the receptionist at Villa Park to sport a Hull City scarf for a picture. Well and truly wound me right up, absolutely disgusting 'journalism'. I know they obviously want Villa to win but it's pathetic. Do they not realise that if they win their game, then our result is irrelevant to them anyway? Cunts.
  15. I know you said plain red lettering, but Blackburn have red lettering on their away shirt. If we stay up, wait until the new numbering arrives at JJB/Sports Direct and I'm sure they'll be able to put the red lettering on for you that contains the Premiership logo, which surely would look better than just plain red anyway?
  16. I really didn't know how to react to it.
  17. I quite frankly couldn't give a fuck what team Ferguson puts out. How about we concentrate on winning our own game first, then we can worry about the other results later.
  18. He has a squad of over 25 players, he has every right to use them in my opinion.
  19. With Fergie naming an 18 man squad, surely they'll be playing? If any of them don't make it, he'd have to add to the squad.
  20. Man Utd (from): Kuszczak, Amos, Neville, Brown, De Laet, Ferdinand, Chester, Eckersley, Simpson, Fabio, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Tosic, Martin, Drinkwater, Macheda, Welbeck. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8048308.stm
  21. Taylor's the other I'd love it to be alongside José. Taylor would probably do five laps of Villa Park for his celebration!
  22. I'd also love it to be Nacho.
  23. I'd like it to be José. I'd expect it to be either Owen or Martins.
