Movement was brilliant and made some great runs in behind resulting in getting one-on-one with their 'keeper three times but his finishing let him down massively. Someone to keep for the coming season or should he be loaned out, you think? Would wait and see how the rest of pre-season pans out. He didn't look too comfortable in the #10 role and didn't seem to know where to position himself/what runs to make a lot of the time but when he got into a more advanced role he came into his own. It may be a bit of rustiness as it was his first game of pre-season but if he wants to stay with us he has to put chances like he had last night away or he'll be struggling to justify minutes on the pitch.

OP update to include Hanley as signed. Can't be long before we start shifting some of the squad on (Wijnaldum and Sissoko aside), too many numbers in certain areas.

Played there initially and looked tidy alongside Shelvey before moving to CB when Mbemba came off for Saivet.

No coincidence we improved with Colback off the pitch. Also no coincidence that Shelvey was miles better in the second half when he didn't have that ginger bellend alongside him. Shelvey will rip the Championship to pieces if he wants to, could really be the key man this season. Must find the right partner for him though to really allow him to dictate. Hayden was impressive, levelled three people with strong challenges. Jesus looked a class above as well and considering he's apparently not too good going forward, he looked like he could be a real threat for us. Linked up well with Perez but was too intelligent for Thauvin who is still infuriating. Clearly has the talent but just lets himself down with his decision making.

Never been too fussed about this one due to his lack of pace and clumsiness but he's been Rafa's #1 CB target so he must have seen something he likes.

Wijnaldum scored 11 from midfield last year and people say the same about him. Wijnaldum is a very good player though, despite what many here would have you believe. I agree.

Watch his actual performances rather than Googling his stats and presuming he's good because of it, it'll tell you a lot more about him. You're wrong about Bruce too. Don't like the bloke obviously but he was fuming that Ince was sold.
