People say fixture order doesn't matter because we all end up playing everyone, but I think it definitely matters.
Managers get sacked because of match orders, players lose momentum. I worry about what our situation will be by that Brighton home game.
So there's one European World Cup between 2010 and 2030. Possibly even longer if Argentina & Uruguay share the centenary tournament (although the nostalgia won't be enough to realistically host a 48-team competition).
Next time it comes round to Europe, you'd have to think it's England's turn. Italy '90, Germany '06, Spain '82, France '98.
Two problems:
1) Far too many attacking midfielders have been classed as forwards, so the midfield options are crap
2) Too many world class forwards to pick from.
Not only have we not bid for anyone, we're selling Merino, Mbemba and Mitrovic
So much talent leaving us and we already desperately needed strengthening. Fucking hell, we're getting relegated at this rate.
Most goals conceded
Most fouls conceded in the group stage
Most fans arrested
Goals conceded could work, especially as it won't necessarily be a team eliminated during the group stage.
Doing a sweepstake at work - for winner, not Golden Boot - and I'm trying to think of a fun way to split the money. Winners, runners-up and...... the team with the worst record? But what if there's 2 or 3 that finish on zero points?
I just want to keep Panama, Saudi Arabia and England interested.
