Xhaka and - at a stretch - Adingra and Diarra could be good. The rest? 50 shades of shite.

After spreadsheeting myself into insanity this week, today's latest idea was to try and go Ekitike over Joao Pedro. Couldn't find the money for it

Underwhelming transfer but adding depth feels great. It's been a long time.
-
Trying not to get too excited because gut feeling says it won't happen. Shame that the fee is high, was kind of hoping it'd be a CM of immediate quality rather than potential.

Useful knowledge for FPL, that Was unsure how nailed van de Ven would be after last season's injury problems. Do you think Pape Sarr plays as the number 10? He's had a good pre-season.

£50m is ok but it can't be both him and Wissa. Wissa sounds like it's happening, therefore....
-
Happy to have missed out on Sesko tbh. Think he has flop written all over him.

My true hope is that we're finally using the decoy tactic. After being turned down by so many, we're using Jackson while proper targets get swiftly done in the background. Oh wait, scratch that, it's us....
-
"are interested in" Yeah fine, we're all interested in things. No panic yet.
-
Not for a second am I contemplating Jackson as a credible rumour, like. No chance.

Was speaking to a Brighton fan website guy today for work purposes and he said the chat down is there is that we're bidding for Van Hecke.

Fuck off, Villa. We just have a complete inability to make such sensible purchases right now. Infuriating summer.
-
Fucking hell. From Trafford to Ramsdale. From Guehi/Scalvini to Thiaw.

I'm the same. Not sure whether to be pleased or not about Sesko. Natural instinct wants to sign players + beat Man Utd but I honestly don't think he's that good, not for such a price, and I'd much rather keep Isak. But we don't know whether Isak is going regardless, in which case this happiness would look silly.
-
Phewwwww.
-
I still have hope that Isak will stay but a sale would certainly sour the cup win that we waited generations for. I'm already staying away from highlights because of the Jota sadness. Anyway, work is pure misery because it now involves acknowledging the Mackems every day, so throw Liverpool's Isak into the mixtoo and wow. A positive spin, I suppose, is that £150m is one of the biggest fees of all time.... for a moody prick who is always on the verge of a groin issue. He started and ended the season quite slowly, although was undeniably stunning in the middle. I just don't think any player is worth that price, knowing how quickly it can go wrong.
-
I know it doesn't mean Isak is necessarily going (Pedro and Trafford would've been £90m, similar to Sesko and Ramsdale), but I'm finding it hard to get too excited about this - overspending while we possibly sell our superstar.

That 'a month to go' narrative being used in a positive way At best it'll be two strikers and a centre-back, which would require some out-of-character speed and clinicalness.
