As annoying as the mackems' summer is, I still think Leeds are buying slightly better. Stach, Longstaff and some centre-backs so far.

If this happens, it's good that we didn't go to £40m. Even £30m would be on the edge, though acceptable. To try and be positive about this particular one, the bigger priorities are CB and CF. But, in general, the recruitment team needs to sort itself out because it feels like everyone is laughing at us. One transfer at a time, from a small list of targets, moving at snail's pace, then eventually getting pipped by someone else. This summer needed to be a huge one and it's going the opposite way.

Online reaction is like this is all done. Romano has lost credibility, he's vague about this + Ederson needs to go first.

A very tiresome summer, this.

Defensive contribution points have been announced. If defenders rack up 10+ clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles in a match, two extra points come in. Slightly different for midfielders and forwards.

Two penalties didn't bounce until the athletics track, while the one in-between barely reached the goalkeeper. What a shootout

If that's truly the list, then it really needs to be Scalvini And Juventus will rinse us after the Lloyd Kelly scandal.

I think Wissa is a decoy because we need to reduce the squad's age, the pricetag is too much and he's off to AFCON for a bit. Think he's really good - been writing about him loads at work over the last year - but not the one we should be after.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
Ketsbaia replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Think there was only one night where Ekitike was ever realistically joining and that felt surreal. So, all things considered, I'm not upset. The idea of having both seemed exciting but insane.... if this was some masterclass from our board, fair play to them The priority is keeping Isak and buying a good alternative (surely Wissa is a decoy?) -

As long as Isak stays. -

Surely it's not €100m. A massive increase? Above his reported clause? -

Perfect, they can have him and we can have our two. -
Pleased for Sean, pleased for the club. Arguably the most impressive of all of the promoted sides' signings so far, but we simply had to cash in on our 6th-best CM. Thanks for the memories

I just can't picture Ekitike at Liverpool, although with Gyokeres off to Arsenal I don't think there's many other gettable forwards out there - they need to buy at least one. -

Fine, they can sign him. We'll find another one, like Sesko. -

£70m is already a lot, like. As exciting as the bid is, let's not go too high. -

Well this has been quite the night If this goes though, i LOVE the trap we set for Chelsea. Let's bid for 2nd choice Joao Pedro, tempt them into buying, then buy the even better guy And having a 4231 with Ekitike + Isak taking it in turns to play behind the other, in some gorgeously fluid system, could prove very special. We can be 4231, 442, 433, wing-backs..... wow. -
That won't stop them.

Work will be unbearable for the next... well.... forever. Great.

I've never exactly been on Team Gallagher but if we get him for no more than £30m (while selling Longstaff), I think he's a very interesting fourth midfielder to have. A versatile alternative to Joao Pedro would be even lovelier, mind.

Was looking at Kudus' underlying stats and it's surprising. He racked up far more goals + assists in 23/24 but the latest season (where Wham were rubbish) he had more shots, shots on target, chances created and xG figures. And because Frank has bought him - rather than Potter inheriting him and playing him all over the place - I think he has a specific position in mind and Kudus will be good for them. Unfortunately.

Suddenly not feeling so bad about the Elanga fee. And I really like Madueke but always thought he'd be available for £30-35m What does he even bring to Arsenal? Good music to the subs bench?

Aren't transfers meant to drag on for months and months, until one side gives up out of mercy?
