    João Pedro

The only hope is Chelsea using his name to buy someone else. No way do they pull out for financial reasons, no way does he pick us over them.

8 points during the first 6 matches usually leads to promoted teams staying up. No more than 6 means relegation. 7 could go either way. https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2025/06/23/how-well-do-newly-promoted-sides-usually-start-the-season

    João Pedro

Thread title feels a bit out of date now. Chelsea can get lost, such a hateable club. Always doing shady, dodgy things.

    This summer, man.....

Feel like these might've got their act together in terms of transfer policy tbh. Certainly compared to the past, when they only sold one player for profit. Shopping in France just seems smart.
  6. Can easily see that stuff being quietly dropped after everyone blows a fuse at it.
  7. Brighton's new Kostoulas kid basically plays as both a forward and a shadow striker, he seems like a Joao Pedro replacement. That position also has Rutter back from injury, Gruda who looked class in the final weeks, O'Riley too, while loanees Enciso/Buonanotte are coming back. That club loves depth and versatility.... I feel like they're prepared to sell him. Maybe £55m does it.
  8. Bit disappointed with this, after all the hype. Surely that 97/98 kit was all about the stripe? In fairness, we've had some lush ones in recent seasons so a blip was due.
  9. Brentford, man. What are you doing. When was the last time a team so blatantly wanted to get relegated?
  10. If Bardghji goes to Barcelona, I can picture a loan move to Sunderland. That'd be annoying.

    Marc Guehi

I'm not saying that Guehi would reject Liverpool but is he getting in ahead of van Dijk or Konate? I don't see Slot splitting up his title-winning rearguard straight away. And therefore would Guehi leave Palace to be the #3 for one season?

    Marc Guehi

I really don't mind not getting Guehi - especially at that price - it's about whether there's confidence in there being a plan b/c/d.
  13. Better than Guehi, great to see
  14. Great, so the veteran has now lost his decision-making abilities too. Let him go, he's clearly lost his mind.
  15. Great, so there's another World Cup gone
  16. I like the idea of buying both Joao Pedro and van Hecke after their recent fallout
  17. The £70m fee If that's most of Spurs' summer load, they'll not be a threat.

    João Pedro

It's going to be strange spending £60m on a player who probably doesn't start in our best XI (unless he really can be pushed to RW). Depth, versatility and fluidity are crucial for next season, though.
  19. Brentford losing these, Wolves selling Cunha/Ait-Nouri, Fulham maybe losing Silva. There's definitely some nervousness that one of these will keep a promoted side up.

It must be rubbish to sell a key player after promotion. At the same time, he's not particularly good. Decent fee but then a bit goes to Birmingham.
  21. I suppose the club can justify not buying a CM with the combination of Joao Pedro offering a 4-2-3-1 option, the occasional wing-back system and Hall being able to play LCM. It's not ideal but, as long as the others get bought, it could work. Miley has star potential, too.
  22. I'm not massively confident that we'll buy all the essentials (RW, CF, CM, CB, GK) so let's not worsen it by selling a superb starter. While there's a good market out there for full-backs and a sale probably won't weaken the team as much as selling other purples, there's just no reason to entertain this. Unless they paid a huge £90m+ fee which, judging by the surprisingly low Kerkez + Ait Nouri fees going on, I can't see them agreeing to.
  23. Maignan would be ok but not sure the others improve their XI. Genuinely sick of them as a football club though. Especially with a couple of colleagues being supporters.
  24. Also, I don't think a Spurs with Mbeumo does particularly much. Which is good.
