Erdinc's has went from being a regular at PSG (who he supports), to having competition up front (Gameiro) to now being at a club that are buying everything they can get hold of. It's all changing for him, so naturally his willingness to move will change. If he didn't want to join a few weeks ago, it doesn't mean he doesn't want to now - it isn't that linear.
Think people are forgetting how fantastic Tevez was for City last season. On his own up front, he was a monster. It'll be very hard to replace, although Aguero does have exceptional talent. Its great to have him in England.
Although it would've been good to see him rip them a new one, you just know Clattermole would've crippled him. He'd make it his mission. And this way we get Shola up front with Ba!
I prefer to believe Douglas' claim that our post-Erdinc targets are continental. Don't think he ever revealed who though; of course, it was most likely a lie. Just keep looking in France, they have Erdinc, Roux, M'Bengue etc.
We also underachieved in many matches. Someone mentioned it recently but we got 4 points from Fulham, Blackburn, West Brom, Blackpool and Bolton. Overall I'd say we got it about right.
Its a difficult situation for Gold & Sullivan - they're gambling on immediate promotion but theres a lot of decent teams there this year, so they're having to throw even MORE money at it. Leicester, Birmingham, Leeds and Forest look good. Even Hull.
Whilst our signings have improved the squad, we're wasting a fantastic opportunity. The problem isn't that we've not got better, it's that we've not got better enough. It's a shame, but not exactly surprising.
Despite the summer starting to go off the rails, signing Erdinc means we're almost there. Just need to replace Enrique and we're fine.
...although if we get rid of a few fringe players I'd love another defender.
Liking the look of PSG. As said before, a team from a city like Paris should be doing much better and now it looks like they will. Buying Frenchies as well, nice one.
