I think they can theoretically reject a transfer request. But it's a strong indication they'll have a disgruntled player on their hands. Also, it must have something to do with their contract and whether the player is entitled to certain bonuses. Personally I think Spurs should tell Chelsea to fuck off. Aye i think you get a loyalty bonus for not asking to leave. But whilst Levy is adamant that Modric won't go, we know that as soon as the transfer request goes in his "hands will be tied" and he'll go to Chelsea. They already know Modric wants to go there and a written request shouldnt change that.

I don't get why transfer requests are suddenly a game changer. A player writes that he wants to leave and thats that? He automatically has to go? Clubs will flat out refuse to sell players then the magical request comes in and they MUST sell. I just don't get it.

unfortunately it's like the N'Zogbia situation in that no clubs will bid for a while. of course, jose won't say anything in the meantime because he doesn't want to burn his bridges with us - he still loves it here and it's a professional decision only. he'll not want to leave on a downer. so without any bids or words from Jose, we're stuck in a very frustrating impasse. the club are desperate for him to stay but will do everything in it's power to stop him running down the contract, and there comes a point where we can't wait any longer. if this continues for another 2 weeks they'll want him gone because we can't assume m'bengue is waiting for us. he could easily sign elsewhere. i hate this.

You could argue either way about who's a bigger club tbh. Also, I think I read somewhere that he's supported PSG ever since moving to France. Having said that, I think we'll get him as PSG will probably get another striker. If Carr loves him, thats good enough to stifle my doubts.

Nice to see the Brazilian league is getting it's act together. In theory it should be one of the best in the world, but the lack of organisation has made it a joke. But lately the clubs are stumbling into money and bringing back players that aren't in the twilight of their careers. Would love to see that league become big.
