it's very sad news indeed, i'm sat here with a tear in my eye :'( one of the best, a true gentleman who brought happiness to so many people the world over through his sheer enthusiasm and passion for football. legend is a word that is said way too often, but it is the only word with which to describe sir bobby. we were lucky to have had him here at st james. here, here!

he was a very good player for us, when we decided we were getting rid, i hoped we'd have signed robbie keane, similar sort of player, not as fast but much less injured and less of a wanker. we signed owen instead, which seemed like a brilliant move but it hasn't quite been so brilliant ... yet!

i've said before but i think benayoun would be a good signing for us. seems he wants to stay at liverpool though, roma seemingly sniffing about...

definitely, when SBR was in charge we had a few who could smash in / curl in a free kick - robert, solano, shearer, so it is definitely something we have been lacking for a while. of the current squad geremi is probably the best, but he's not the greatest, no idea if jonas will be any good at taking them but i would welcome signing sebastian larsson

i think n'zogbia would do canny well at LB if you played in an attacking way, along the lines of ashley cole when he was at arsenal. if i think on, n'zogbia only got called up to the france u21's when allardyce played him at LB, which suggests that he's probably not going to progress as a LM or LW in the french national teams
