the worst shirt I can remember for clicking was the first batch of the asics home shirt from 93 with the blue star and embroidered asics logo (rather than the rubbery printed one) -
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$T2eC16VHJFoE9nh6oV+uBQ3cQSh+V!~~60_35.JPG there was a second one with keegan and the honey monster advertising free figures of premiership players, and keegan accidently dropped one of the figures and said 'oh no, i've dropped shearer' and the honey monster replies 'you can't kev, you resigned'. i think the shearer figure was still in the blackburn kit even though he'd signed for us by then. i never got the shearer/redknapp/ferdinand figures, had shitloads of lee sharpe and ruud gullit ones though

http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/img/shirts/14/thumbs/football_shirt_1988_1_600x560x0.jpg that was my first one as a kid, must have worn it virtually non-stop from the ages of 4-9 (was quite a small, skinny child) until i got the yellow/green striped away kit with the sew on greenalls patch. i was devastated when it had to be thrown out, although by that time i had to reluctantly admit it was too small for me. the originals cost a fortune on ebay so i was actually pretty pleased with score draw bringing out the replica ones. i did get a few of these as hand-me-downs, short sleeved/long sleeved, with the shorts. i'd have guessed probably around 1990 or so. i didn't realise they were a canny age at the time. wished i'd kept and framed them tbh. http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/img/shirts/14/thumbs/football_shirt_2375_1_600x560x0.jpg -

loving the greenalls shirts shame our kits weren't supplied by umbro these days as we'd get the proper reissue like man city did with their '90 shirt. they're still class like i've got and still wear that yellow and green one but mine has no sponsor. got the barcode one too which i still wear but that's got the blue star on hope they do a re-issue of this one http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQKemTVHRwmkpUGsnNhPgzj1fTVFmwuYxACpgGgPvMcD_2Z4_iE -

Parker's never really looked the same player after that accident

i bet most of the stuff on that forum is made up, like 'the mag pizza delivery guy story', 'the neighbour taking his kids to see the mags play a european match story' i remember seeing this mackem knacker smashing brown ale bottles outside the royalty pub in sunderland after one of the tyne-wear derbies because 'they came from newcastle' can't say i've ever seen red bacon either
-
i didn't actually get to my first game until i was 12. it was the 5-1 vs brentford with rob lee's disallowed goal from our own half. i think i remember something on the p.a about howey and clark being called up to the england u21 squad, and something about john beresford and an england training get together?
-
that away shirt is great, do love the corona sponsor shame about the home one mind
-
wouldn't surprise me, our only one this season that i can remember is the ba handball one against reading
-
it was even more amazing he kept a clean sheet in that game with those 2 knackers in defence
-
That's a joke about the Sorensen save right? (it really is hard to tell with that lot) nope, it's not a joke. my ex went to sunderland uni and i went to the graduation ceremony which they had at the stadium as the empire was getting a re fit and they had huge framed pics of that save (at the bottom of the stairwell iirc)

even when it had been hanging on for ages, like when your caser had a tumor (the bladder sticking out where the stitching had came away) we'd always called that sticking out bit 'the pleb'

we got a bit better at football during primary school when because of the dinner nannies complaining at us booting a size 5 about the yard we had to play with a tennis ball instead. of course whatever skill we'd built up was lost over the summer holidays mind but for that few months we did well

Roque 'Horror' Junior http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39389000/jpg/_39389876_roque_get200x245.jpg One of the world's most terrifying defenders, if he was one of your team-mates. Somehow ended up with 48 caps for Brazil and a World Cup Winners medal in 2002 and a Champions League winners medal with AC Milan. Monkey's Heid brought him in to help keep Leeds in the Premier League ... There was excitement at Elland Road when Peter Reid brought Roque to Leeds on loan, but it was short lived as the team conceded 24 times in his 7 appearances and Roque was sent off on his début against Birmingham City. However, he did score two goals in a Worthington Cup game against Manchester United (Leeds lost 3–2) but his spell at Leeds was not considered a success
