He never played under SBR btw. For me, he's reverted back to the player that played under Souness. He had moderate success under the latter part of Roeders stewardship and under Keegan and Fat Sam, I mean lets not forget that he won the clubs player of the year in 06/07 and had a good season in 07/08, he was a battler, he got around the pitch, won the ball and played it simple, he was a a decent player after he sorted himself out after those two first nightmareish years. However last season he seemed to change his game, he offered little to no protection of the back 4, he put little effort in and he decided he could spray balls about like he was David Beckham, most of which ended up out of play or to the opposition, in short he was diabolical. Tbh I think it's because his age has caught up with him, he cant get around the pitch as much as he used to thus isnt the same player he was. He's had his day, he's finished now tbh.

I cant wait for Barnsley. It will be the biggest away following i've ever been in. Just hope with the 7K going that there isnt too many folk that never go away that will be wanting to sit down, I've only ever sat down at one away game and it was fucking shit, ruined it. The last 7 away games I've been too we havn't won in any of them, so heres hoping i can break my duck! The mackems took 7K to Barnsley and tbf, do take good followings, however they all sit down at most away games which for me ruins that atmosphere.

Aruna Dindane for Pompey is a bizzare player like. He gets into great positions and has looked lively every single time ive seen him play, however his finishing is beyond diabolical. His penalty and subsequent rebound today was shocking. Must be frustrating as hell to watch.

So if he had stayed and we had still went down and then he had left, would we be still giving him this flak?

I'm fucking shitting it for January if I'm honest. If Birmingham come in for Nolan I think he'll go. Unlike Blackburn and Hulll they'd be able to give him good wages and they're a club on the up with financial muscle.
-
Aye and thats why you should shut the hell up about something you know nothing about.

I suppose it is kind of racism saying because you're not British you can't play football here. Thats quite clearly not what I'm saying though is it. Alot of European leagues have rules where a team can only field so many non european players, is that racism? no. I'd like to see something like that made a rule in the premier league only with all foreigners not just players with non-eu citizenship.
-
I reckon he could be off in January like. I could see someone like Blackburn or Hull taking a punt on him.
-
Does anyone know when Barton's back? Not that I could see him getting in our team anytime soon like.
-
You'd like to see the quality of football in England decrease just to suit your xenophobia? No, but the influx of foreigners is a bit worrying. La Liga is still to a very good standard yet every team has a lot of Spanish players, same goes for Serie A. It annoys me when teams field a first 11 full of non english players in the English premier league, although that dosent happen to often with the rate of increasing foreign players in the PL it will only get more common. I think it would make the league a bit less money dominated too.
-
1) I'd like to see a salary cap like. 2) I'd also introduce a minimum of so many foreigners in each starting 11, though I think thats impossible due to some law or other. 3) I'd also like to see a Standing section at each stadium. All 3 will never happen like.

The FA Cup 2009/10 - NUFC get Plymouth (a) in the third round
Doctor Zaius replied to Ashley17's topic in Football
Aye exactly. A good cup run breeds confidence and belief. There's doubts weather we could cop in the Premier league, IF we were to beat a prem team or two it would instill more belief in the players and confidence that they are much better than this level and good enough to stay in the PL. -
Can anyone remember the draw last time. They drag these things out and it takes for-fucking-ever. It's ridiculous normally, you end up sitting there screaming at the suits on the telly to draw the fucking teams! I seem to remember a clip of another world cup draw where they got these little kids to draw the balls, he then took it over to the suits who sent him away leaving the poor kid with a bewildered look on his face.

Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury
Doctor Zaius replied to a topic in Football
The two quotes from 'Kris' on that article sum up the great unwashed and what those who know them have to put up with on a regular basis. -
Probably already been mentioned but playing music when teams score. Like Boro or Bolton. Village.

Maybe, a season in the championship is what he needs, a season to get his confidence back. We know he has the ability to perform, he's proved that before hence why we paid 10M for him . He's looked good this season in an albeit shite league, he looks a lot calmer on the ball, better in the air and stronger, thats totally different to a Collocini who last season looked weak as water and had the turning speed of Geremi. I seem to remember him whinging last year about joining the club and there was persistent rumours he couldnt settle, although I've no doubt if someone had offered him the wages he's on here he would have been off like a shot but it appears he's settled and got used to the North East. Hopefully if he does stay through January he can carry on his form and take it into the Premiership if we go up, thats when we'll see what he's made of. The same goes for Taylor aswell, I've been a big critisizer of the lad and last season imo he did nothing to change my opinion, hopefully he can develop into the player we hoped. These comments are pleasing, he's not coming out trying to draw intrest from other clubs infact he's done the opposite and said he turned down offers to stay. Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique Has the potential to be a good premiership defence, theres no doubt about that imo lets jsut hope its dosent become unfulfilled potential.

Am I right in thinking that if both finalists in the FA cup have already qualified through the league for Europe the european spot goes to whoever is 7th in the league? Do they still have the intertoto cup these dayswith the new Europa league format? -
Took me a while to catch what you were getting at there. Fixed.
