Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Doctor Zaius replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
How come we took 15k to the San Siro back in the day then? Bother put a stop to those sorts of allocations then? -

What a season. Privilege to have witnessed it -
How the fucking hell did we nearly throw that away

What's the craic with Maddison then? From the outside looking in, I thought he was a really good, level headed professional. I think most people who don't get to watch Leicester aside from now and again assume he's the standout gem in a poor team. Is that not so? Would like a Leicester perspective on him -

Dortmund, Real Madrid and Braga would be my picks -
Doesnt really work given that Crystal Palace have played Inter away in a competitive game. Brighton havent.

Fuck Liverpool. 10 minutes added time was an utter joke.

Win today and that'll be the end of me hating Villa for that relegation -
My strikers since Shearer list: Ba Wilson Remy Cisse Carroll Martins Ba just edges it for me. I think he was absolutely lethal for that period he was here. Its tight between him and Wilson though, really not much in it. 18 goals is a terrific return.

I'd support 4th to 6th in a play off, with 5th and 6th playing a midweek semi final. Else you may well have two losing semi finalists playing for a place in the conference league which neither of them want. Will never happen anyway like. -

Its a bit of a nightmare if Bruno and Anderson are our only fit midfielders. Really hoping Joelinton pulls through. -

Just realised that top four go straight into the CL group stage with no qualifier. We finished 3rd the season before Partizan knocked us out in the qualifying round. No real difference between finishing 3rd and 4th other than PL prize money then? Straight into pot 4 regardless is it? -
Newcastle United 4-1 Brighton & Hove Albion (18/05/2023)
Doctor Zaius replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
The pressing in that first half was unreal like. I was astounded they kept repeatedly trying to play out short from goal kicks. Kept getting caught every time. Lost the ball over and over in dangerous positions but didn't see fit to change it up. Thought we were excellent all over the pitch. Poor for our goal and we really really need to make more of our chances. Almiron was great but I wish he'd regain some of that composure from earlier in the season. Well deserved. -

Leicester are wank like. Hope they're relegated and stay down. You've had your fun, now off you pop.

Wout Faes is an absolute clown of a footballer.

Lisbon in the QF remains the biggest surrender ive ever seen from a Newcastle side. 2-0 up on aggregate and an away goal with them needing to score 3 with just just over 45 minutes to go. They scored 4. They got to the final and played CSKA Moscow ffs. That was our chance. Absolutely pathetic stuff. AZ wasnt much better but we were a worse team on paper. Brugge was a legendary trip. Excited for Europe more than anyway connected with this club.

Diallo would get into our team like

McKennie push on Wilson was a pen. Ref completely bottled it like

Whats the deal with the last game of the season on TV. Obviously they all kick off at the same time but do the broadcasters announce what they're showing on the the week before depending on what teams have to play for or what? Trying to work out whether we'd be on TV V Chelsea. Can only ever remember watching us on TV on the final day against Villa when we went down. Guessing we were V West Ham too but I was there.

Danilo looks a good player too.

Great game this
