Brentford vs. Newcastle United: 08/04/23 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)
Doctor Zaius replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Some dilemma for Howe with the two players he brought into the team to rest others scoring twice. I have no idea what midfield three I'd pick. Maybe give Longstaff a rest? None of last nights from three deserve to be dropped but you cant be leaving Isak out really. -
West Ham United 1-5 Newcastle United (05/04/2023)
Doctor Zaius replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
I know he scored but Kurt Zouma put in one of the worst centre back displays ive seen in a good while like. Wilson was his man for the first goal, he let Joelinton waltz through for the second and his defending for our 5th, where he backed off and allowed Joelinton time and space to shoot was woeful. -
West Ham United 1-5 Newcastle United (05/04/2023)

They started well, we looked shell shocked at their start then they gifted us two goals. We were shite from then until half time, way off it then they gifted us a third and that was that really. I think Sunday was a better performance and West Ham troubled us more than Man Utd, despite us scoring 5 tonight. Some of the West Ham defending, my word. Particularly Zouma, absolutely hopeless for both of Joelintons goals. Not taking anything away from us though. Maxis cross for the first and a well taken header, Schars pass for our second, Joelintons well taken second. Next two games make our season for me. Villa away being the tougher of the two. What a season though. -

Aside from the dreadful error, Saivet played really well that game. Was never heard from again after that -

Daft getting rid of Cooper I think. Best person to keep them up imo -
Same, when were together and they're on. Will enthusiastically watch Newcastle on TV and quite often suggests going out to watch it, i'm grateful, especially these days. Tried to push my luck and get her watching the darts the other day but she was having none of it.

I didnt realise just how good he was until his last few games. Some of his touches yesterday were fantastic. A genuine cut above -

Potter actually started quite well. No defeats in his first 9. Seemingly it went to pot when he started to employ his methods. Think the pressure well and truly got to him. Although they picked up some form, he looked like a defeated man recently. Dont think he'd have turned it round tbh. Needs time, his players - not a scattergun approach to transfers and a pre season. No way he was gonna ever get that luxury given how bad theyve been. -
Newcastle United 2-0 Manchester United (02/04/2023)

One of the best Newcastle performances I've ever seen. Relentless -
Youd think Krul would be content coming back as 3rd choice if it means filling up an extra home grown spot for Europe. Sat on the bench at Norwich anyway
-
Jimmy Maddison captain for me. Give me dem differentials baby
-
They've had some awful luck with injuries like. Think they'll go down tbh.
-
He's relentless. Takes it as a personal attack when someone says they don't rate a player. It would be somewhat understandable if folk were criticising Messi or someone, but recently he's major took issue with people saying they don't rate Anthony Gordon, Eddie Nketiah (4 goals all season) and now Scott McTominay ffs. It's hardly a Ballon d'Or shortlist is it.

Spurs have also spent poorly as well. Look at that list. Littered with failures and bang average players not worth the fees they paid. Ndombele, Gil, Reguilon shipped out on loan, Richarlison scored 0 league goals might well join others sold at a loss after not impressing. -

This is daft. There's no reason Spurs cant do what Arsenal have this season or even Liverpool under Klopp. Obviously thats difficult but its achievable. 4th isnt their ceiling just like the Championship isnt Brentfords, or lower mid table isnt Brightons etc. The last manager that worked out for them was Pochettino and he left in 2019. Mourinho is a busted flush at the top level, Nuno was out of his depth and now Conte for a variety of reasons. The infrastructure is all there for them to be a genuine contender though. -

Bayern winning 10 titles in a row is a joke but the lack of competitiveness in football is quite grim. If Arsenal bottle it this year itll be 5 out of the last 6 titles for City. -
On the bench for Scotland against Ketsbaias Cyprus

People seem to be forgetting his 2 wins and 13 losses in 18 games at Watford last year. He was spectacularly shite. -

Spurs won't finish top 4 imo. Think it'll be Liverpool. Either way, they're there for the taking. -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)
Doctor Zaius replied to Disco's topic in Football
I don't want him to go at all like. Still think he's a special player and worthy of a start -
Brilliant result. Thought they outbattled us for parts in the first half but we dug in and got what we thoroughly deserved. They're decent on the counter and you can see why their home form is decent. Aurier was so bad at right back, beat for Isaks and Anderson's goals. I'd have been raging if that Johnson shot went in but Pope stood up well. Thought Willock was great and Grippier too once again. Isak makes us so much more dynamic. Botman was full of mistakes though, hopefully it's a rare off day, easily the poorest I've seen him. Great result. I think we'll fall short of 4th. We just don't have the squad but never the less, always great to beat those scab cunts.
