Thing is though, someone like Phil Bardsley doesn't need an arm around his shoulder. He's a rubbish footballer and PDC could have just found the perfect excuse to get rid.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that press conference. Spot on imo. Even with his broken English and scatter brain, he is more eloquent and insightful than Pardew ffs.
  4. nee idea as a bloke a few rows in front had a heart attack and we were too busy watching the medics work on him. fucks sake hope he's alright?
  5. Aye. Del Piero on the away and Nedved on the home would be canny.

    Loïc Remy

Clearly the end of bantermime season.
  7. Carr doesn't watch the games Doesn't he? That's incredible if true. He's a scout. Why would he scout our own players? eh? Surely he should be watching our matches, or replays of them if he's away on matchdays to see how the players he's been scouting are faring? He's in the best position to tell if say Sissoko is playing the way he played for Toulouse when Carr decided to recommend him? Not out of this world to think he should be keeping track with players' performances to improve his own?
  8. IMO it goes beyond just Pardew being inept at the coaching and management of the first team squad. The real inquest that Ashley himself should conduct should involve all strategic football decision-making processes at the club. Match day football Training (General & match specific) Recruitment Medical (fitness, injury prevention, rehab) Reserves & Youth development Squad harmony & team building Media & press management (pertaining to communication with the fans) It seems to me that every single one of the above facets has been mediocre or dealt with a dismissive off-hand manner this season. It didn't seem that way in our Championship season or our first season back (even under Pardew after Hughton left). The first signs of it started last season. Ashley should identify who is responsible for the strategic over-see of all of the above, and sack them on the spot. If that person is Pardew or Llambias, or A.N.Other. s*** is about to get serious next season with the increased TV revenue, and relegation should be an unthinkable thing for a club our size.
  9. You only have to look at Aston Villa as an example! Their first team this season has been littered with youth. They will most likely survive by the skin of their teeth as it turns out. But Lambert sets them out to play a clear and defined brand of football. It may have taken them half a season to start getting results, but it shows that youngsters can do the job if the football is structured. Villa surviving with that first team is a monumental achievement compared to our miserable failure in merely surviving with ours.
  10. Surely though it's up to the fans to realize that they CAN enforce a change in management? I agree with what you're saying, and unfortunately the sensible &knowledgable fans get lumped in with the fair weather drones most times. What might be "fight" shown by fans will be deemed reactionary and over-expectant by the media defending AP and the owner. We simply cannot let that happen! We really in clear and present danger of the cycle repeating for next season if Pardew remains. Even if he was a slightly decent manager who has had a bad season, it's clear he has lost the players, and on that evidence alone he needs to be replaced asap.
  11. Shak says "A smooth talking PR man", which as we've now seen is so far from the truth it's unreal. He can't speak proper English and says things no real PR man would come out with. He is frankly dreadful and should just shut up tbh. Agreed. Some of the foreign managers in the league make real attempts at speaking English correctly, while this fraud can't construct two sentences together without making grammatical errors. He is NOT good at the PR lark like. Wish people would stop saying it.
  12. Have people actually read the article?
  13. How on Earth is it acceptable for a manager to say that? It's becoming more and more like he's just taking the p*ss. But but but he's the PR guru
  14. Was just thinking about that. Just hope Arsenal bum us if it's to secure his exit out of the club. Don't understand this attitude. We don't need a pasting from Arsenal to show Ashley and the football world that Pardew is gash ffs!
  15. Unless we get humilated (not beyond the realms of possibility), I can't see there being any discontent at SJP whatsoever. The number of people who have fallen for his injuries/Europe patter is unbelievable. I don't want to lay into supporters. Personally I feel that - on a matchday - sticking it to the manager is entirely counter-productive. However, how people can lap up some of the stuff he's come out with - it just beggars belief. I was having a chat with another fan the other day and he said he rated Pardew. I asked him why and he came out with the same stuff; not positives about the manager himself, just those excuses. There's been a phenomenal job of lowering expectations this season. Pardew is good at his own PR, I'll give him that. No. No he isn't. Personally I reckon Ashley gave him the chance to keep this squad in this division as a challenge to keep his job. Would not be surprised if he chucks him out now that he's achieved survival.
  16.  Best moment of the season for me seeing the new banner. Top work
  17. What a relief. Turned off the stream after Elliot was sent off. Could not watch. Decked the cat when I got the first text saying: SAFE!!! Off for a celebratory wank. I would like to invite jotenko and any other like minded bros to join.
  18. Also, can a mod please take his mug off the banner now? Today is about NUFC and the fans.
