  1. How do you know he likes attacking football??? his most successful time as a player was when he was managed by Dalglish, someone Shearer thinks the world of, for all you know Shearer could set his teams up and play like KD did, won trophies but not exactly wonderful attacking football!!! Say you what? Do people judge football figures from one-liners printed in the press such as "the dour and pragmatic Dalglish"? Did you not watch Blackburn Rovers play under him? Did Shearer not score 30+ goals in every one of his seasons with Blackburn? Did Shearer and Sutton not have one of the most successful strike partnerships in the PL era? Sure it wasn't "slit your own throat gung go swashbuckling all guns blazing kawabunga" football! But it certainly wasn't boring, and his teams knew how to attack, defend and move the ball around as a unit. Anyways, on topic, I think Shearer WILL make a very good manager one day, but he should only manage NUFC when he decides he's ready.
  2. Yup! Was even thinking 2 days ago of starting a thread about how the only way is up from rock bottom etc.... Guess we're not even half way down yet
  3. Would both sides of the argument accept that there's no right or wrong when it comes to this argument? I think this also applies to the Shepherd vs. Ashley argument as well, whereby 2 men in charge of the club at different times displayed some positives to benefit the club as well as certain levels of ineptitude which have damaged it. It's all grey areas, and we can debate till we're all blue in the face. Would be nice to leave out the personal sniping if so.
  4. went to bed early after the makeover SP60'sH?
  5. exactly! whoever has written/decreed the above trying desperately to pretend there is no agenda except supporting Newcastle United, the football club. could have fooled me
  6. Points 1 - 5 The rest is absolute cretinous drivel, and the reason why many will not want to be part of this so-called "fan's voice" charade
  7. May bring him into some other role at the club and appoint a different manager Director of Football ftw pardon my ignorance, but what does ftw stand for? For the win i always thought so, but never really clocked on. guess i'm a bit thick ftw? I only got IYAM - If you ask me last week eeek looks like i'm not the only thick one around here IYAM

  13. Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks) I'll have him here over any other American owner atm
  14. That sounds far more plausible than a lot of the other theories we've heard. If this does turn out to be true, and KK's walkout leads to us being taken over by a wealthy individual/group who inject money and lead us to sustainable long term success, the 3rd coming could yet turn out to represent the most enduring part of Keegan's toon legacy. Tell you what, if this turns out to be true, I'll even change my tune about Keegan, and will ultimately agree with you (and HTT) 100%. Having said that, why do you think it's the most plausible explanation?
  15. superbly put and thought out. no doubt you will be called deluded and an Ashley apologist, but let it not get to you my son!
  16. What a bullshitter! Blatantly held at gun-point by Ashley and forced to say those words so that the fat cockney b****** can fill the stadium. Boycott people!!! Boycott!! No need to boycott. Go there and support the team. Show you are a fan of Newcastle United Football Club. Mike Ashley will leave anyway. Oh well. I tried. I'm not a true fan anyway. I just say I am coz people laugh at me, and I like to feel a bit popular lolz. I'd rather see Man U beat NUFC if it really came down to it. Not sunderland though. wankers. lolz

  18. No I don't want him back. He came back this time, and totally tainted the reputation and image he had built up in the early 90's. Surely what he's done for the club will never ever be forgotten, and is the stuff of true legends. But this love affair is all too corrupted now. Best to avoid it like the plague and just move on. Plus - imo, he would never EVER walk back into this job again regardless of who the owner is.
  19. From today's Journal. Don't think the vocal protests will have made us a more attractive proposition for the future, but time will tell. oh come on man!! do you want to be known as BogTron or BigJudas from now on? how can you even suggest that you might even slightly (and by slightly i mean a speck of dust) agree with the notion that the fans may have bit off their nose to spite their face.
  20. I wonder if G Zola knew what he was getting himself into
