  1. Makes sense IMO. Southampton are a very good side, but they're also missing a few players at the back and in midfield. They've also been traveling away this week. Potentially the best time to play them at home.
  2. Really boils my piss when he name drops NUFC at every fucking opportunity.
  3. It's definitely possible. A lot depends on how the midfield gels, and obviously if Mbemba adapts. A lot might also depend on how well we manage to implement an improved possession/passing game overall. If we're controlling games with the ball it'll relieve the pressure on the defence and allow them to organise better. We've been so s*** with the ball for years the defenders have always been under immense pressure in games, ran ragged basically. Very good point again. Think we just have to see what impact our change in approach has on the team, and then start to make necessary changes from there. If Colo blows it then I'm sure Pardew will still be salivating for him in January anyway. Isn't true. Martinez teams are an example. But McClaren isn't a total football manager anyway. Crazy myth. He might not be, but we won't be punting the ball back to the opposition as much as we did under Pardew. He doesn't need to be a total football manager to help improve our possession, and reduce the amount of pressure we come under. Stop being so silly man. Martinez teams have plenty of possession. They also lose the ball plenty in dangerous situations and concede plenty of goals. No one said they didn't! The point is we conceded far more, and a big problem was our total incapability of keeping the ball, and so being under constant pressure. Are you serious right now? A lot of last season we actually kept the ball a good bit but just went nowhere with it because we didn't have any creativity I'd say the biggest reason is because we moved off the ball like a pub team it's arguably the biggest factor in keeping the ball and creating opportunities for the team if you are actually trying to pass the ball. This. Pardew seemingly paid zero attention to this. The amount of times our players are static, or there's not a single fucker in the penalty area when the ball is out wide is staggering.
  4. That's that sealed then. Pardew plays attacking and attractive football. Get it out there lads, and into your thick heads.
  5. Mapou clatters him in the lead-up to the incident to be fair. Just sort of stands his ground with his arms out to stop Messi running past him off the ball. Most of the videos don't show it. Messi should have been sent off though 100%.
  6. Really liked the look of Harry Winks for Spurs when he came on. Some really nice touches. He any good leffe?
  7. It's for him to move in to when his wife sells and trousers the cash because he's not a man and from a country England once fought in a war. Sounds about right
  8. Seems to be Ighalo at the moment, with Vydra getting on as supersub at some point.
  9. His end product isn't as bad as say, Obertan. He could improve a lot by releasing the ball that second earlier, and it would make a massive difference to his productivity. Very talented player imo, and has all the ingredients to make it to the upper echelons of European football.
  10. Saw an interview with her a couple days ago on BeIn. She's quite exceptional
  11. I think there's a very good player in Bolasie somewhere. Far better than what he showed last season even. If he continues his development he'll be worth a lot of money. Unfortunately for him, al pards is his manager now, so that's his career gone down the toilet.
  12. It's just the lie he peddles because he knows it'll get quoted in the papers, and most people are thick enough to believe everything they read. That's the reason he reaches to some serious depths when it comes to finding excuses as to why exactly this attractive attacking football doesn't materialize. He really is a cunt and an impostor of the highest calibre.
  13. Anya started at LB in their last friendly, with Layun ahead of him then was pushed up to the wing in the second half when Holebas came on. IIRC.
  14. Please change your av Please don't! Ever
  15. Some of these are so clueless it makes this forum look like the Harvard of football boards.
  16. The fact that compartmentalise a player's traits to judge them in this way shows how little you actually understand the game of football. LOL. So it's okay to compartmentalise Riviere's finishing, Tiote's passing, Williamson's technique but question a defenders aerial ability - you don't understand the game of football? GTFO. Aerial ability and general physical prowess is an important element for any PL central defender. If John Terry didn't know how to attack an aerial ball, he would be fairly crap. A player like Williamson has absolutely no redeeming qualities to offset his major weakness of being utterly shit at the sport. The mere fact that you even made that comparison between the two tells me everything I need to know about your understanding of the game.
  17. I don't hate him as much as I hate the fact that he was a nailed on starter. I'd give him less stick if he was treated in the same way some of our other players are treated. You can almost guarantee that he wouldn't be dropped no matter how awful his form was. That's the worrying thing for me.

  19. I'd have no problem thinking that way if Williamson, Gouffran and Obertan had been first out the door. As it is, they're looking increasingly likely to stay, and it's mind-boggling how they get to keep their PL status, and someone of Abeid's potential ends up in a lower league in Germany.
  20. Nah, not having this like. He is miles better than Colback in a central defensive role. Much more imposing and confident on the ball and has a rhythm to his passing that Colback doesn't. He's also been calmer than Tiote in the games he played. Abeid never got a fair run in the side but the potential he showed in that run of matches was enough for many to see that he could have been a very good midfielder in the PL.

  22. Delighted that Gouffran was allowed to rest for this game. Needs to be fresh for next week.
