I'd rather Arteta, a good player who doesnt whore himself about despite his massive talent! Two different players really. Arteta tends to be deployed out wide in the play maker role providing quality for the strikers. Arshavin tends to play just off the striker in the "the hole" and probably has an all round better game than Arteta. Arsenal would be better off chasing defensive players rather than trying to add to an already more than competent attack.

Oh dear. We badly need a bit of pace up front. Someone like Obinna or Saviola on loan until the end of the season would be ideal.
-
I have to admit I'd prefer to play full back. Ah well, Venkman your going down.

Put it this way: The Blue Team - A team of skillful players destined to play cultured football. Their irresistible, fluent style will be easy on the eye and their effort and work rate will win any fan over. The Red Team - A bunch of long ball merchants who will attempt to kick, slog and blast their way through any opposition. These cloggers will use any old dirty tactics to shut down their rivals. It's the irresistable force against the irremovable object if you like.

Saw him mostly when he was playing in Italy and also for Ghana. He's a good player make no mistake. He's a good player but an injury prone one. Fernabache probably realised his wage per game average was costing them far too much.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
The Prophet replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
He scored in 6 games for Depor, Colo scored in 4 games. I would like him to have a run out just to see if he can make it or not but I guess he is not being used so he is fit to be sold, why we are putting him the bench is strange though. Fair comment, he hasn't been prolific, but a goal record isn't everything. -
Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
The Prophet replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
The lad hasn't looked anything special so far but I still think it might be a bit early to give up on him. Watching La Liga last season I saw a striker with lots of quality and determination with bags of potential. Admittedly he was raw, but there was definitely talent there. Needless to say I was excited when we tied him down. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. I haven't seen enough of the lad in the English game to compare him to any of our other strikers. What I can say is Xisco in La Liga was significantly better than Ameobi or Carrol in the Premier League, obviously that counts for little, but it does demonstrate he some form of quality. Maybe it would be a sensible move to loan him out to a Championship club to let the lad get some mileage under his belt in the English game? So if it's not his quality is it his attitude? Well if it's a motivational thing surely that is down to Kinnear to sort out. Maybe like many other of his Spanish compatriots he just doesn't like the country. Many foreigners just don't like the culture, weather, etc. If that is the case then we may well have to cut our losses. Until we know why Xisco isn't getting a game we can't really pass comment on a decision to keep or sell the lad. However if it is purely down to the lad not adjusting to the English game, I feel it could be a big mistake to let him leave this early -
This season is already a disaster. Well yeah, so far. Don't want to write it off till it ends though, as you never know... True, considering the circumstances a top half finish alone would be remarkable, however I can't help but feel we'll always be haunted by the events that occurred earlier in the season.

The FA Cup: Hull/Newcastle v Millwall, Sunderland v Blackburn
The Prophet replied to Nobby's topic in Football
Some seem to have forgotten we still have a job to do against Hull. -
If you don't ask you don't get. Obviously it's very unlikely we'd be able to prize any of their better players away but some of the players mentioned are on the fringes of the City squad and may want away for first team football. Your forgetting it's unlikely we'll ever ask about such a swap deal, it would be exciting to think the recruitment team were looking at players of similar ilk though.
-
I'd definetly be asking Man City about some form of swap deal for Given if they are indeed intrested. Schmeichel, Onuoha, Johnson or Sturridge would be nice. Ireland would be ideal for the midfield, but in all honesty I think we're going to struggle to attract that calibre of player anymore, even if he isn't a world beater.
-
A massive problem with the current crop is between them they had no experience of running a football club. Somewhere within the board room there needs to be someone who has been there and done it. A room full of businessmen would probably result in similarly disaterous consequences that we're experiencing at the minute.
-
there was nothing honest about their mistake idiotic yes You can argue that an idiotic mistake can still be an honest mistake. I suppose it depends which indviduals fall into the "cockney mafia" bracket. It appeared as though different parties made different degrees of mistake.
-
This guy is relentless you've got to hand it to him. Aye lets get good old Kevin back in and when he blows a fuse and walks out again we can have this conversation again, wonderful.
-
...and if they make an honest mistake are we going to attempt to chase them out of the club even though they're not the only party in the wrong.
-
then dont post if your bored with it like dave explain the "s*** thread" comments, although dont bother we have a s*** owner s*** chairman etc s*** manager which inturn leads us to having a team which is woefully short i'll get over it but we need a new manager and i cant see anybody worth their salt coming It's getting pissy annoying how every thread I seem to enter is either Keegan debate or a board debate started by mongs like you. We get the picture, you love to curl up on your futon in the evening with your mug of hot coco and dream about what may have been but no body cares. Keegan is gone, the damage is done. Yes we know we're neck deep in the shit but do we need reminding of it in every other bloody thread, grow up man.
-
This is just boring now, it's almost as tedious as the whole board debate. He's gone get over it.
