Was Eddie asked about Mitchell's comments or hid recruitment record?
  2. No one's getting upset, people can post what they want. It's a forum though, people will react to that post.
  3. I'm of the opinion it's fine to give Howe a pass this week given he's spoken of not wanting to burn Tonali out, but he needs to be in the team sooner rather than later. I was far more bemused by Barnes being dropped, which was incredibly harsh. Heron is correct though. Longstaff is regularly scapegoated, just look at the reaction to the goal. He along with Burn and Miggy are currently flavour of the week. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think most level headed folk would agree it's not exactly sunshine and roses at the moment, but the relentless negativity towards anything and everything NUFC, when in reality the bigger picture is pretty good, is tedious like.
  4. Doubt it, they were found guilty of actual match fixing. Plus, it's a terrible look for the PL.

    Lewis Hall

He's had a rough season to date, but always looks tidy on the ball.

Isn't he one of the journalists who've been doing the blowing out of proportion?
  7. I doubt they'd punishment the players and management. It's not comparable to the match fixing scandles in Italy. Could see a hefty points deduction and a transfer ban though.
  8. Aside from the obvious changes, would like to see Kelly in for Burn.
  9. Poor for the goal, but he wasn't the only one. It was a bit of a collective failure that one. Longstaff, Burn, Bruno and Tino all could have done better.
  10. Trippier at left back, Schar in midfield, Barnes up top and we're laughing.
  11. Actually thought he had a solid start to the season, but he was poor yesterday. Absolutely no excuses to be benching Tonali next weekend.
  12. We dominated the first 25. Wolves scored and we fell to bits, we were all over the place. Thought the second half was pretty even, but we lacked control for sure. Overall though it was pretty even and could have gone either way.

He was excellent when he came on. Such an asset when he's fit.
  14. I know it's subjective, but I don't think Wolves did enough to win the game. Fair enough, we didn't either, but we were well worth a point. I think a robbery does us a bit of an injustice.
  15. There's probably a few things at play at the moment... A disjointed pre-season - our better players still don't look fully match sharp. Bruno looks like he's lacking match fitness, while Gordon and Isak are improving but still aren't at the races. They're arguably our three key players. We're integrating a new back line - in the season we finished 4th, Trippier, Schar and Botman were all capable of picking up the ball and playing effectively through the lines. Schar is still there and Hall is very good at it, but while Tino, Burn and Kelly are tidy with the ball at their feet, they lack that ability to step into midfield or play a ball forward. It was compounded further when Krafth came in for Schar. We're not pressing as much - possibly a consequence of the first, but I've not seen us press yet. In mitigation, we had ten men v Southampton and had a game plan v Spurs, while we've never pressed as well away, but it's definitely off at the moment. Confidence - it seems that the summer has unsettled a few of the squad. Even putting the PSR deadline aside the likes of Dubravka, Trippier and Miggy were unsettled until recently. Throw in our shaky away form last season and we probably do lack a bit of confidence. Thankfully results fuel confidence and we're getting solid results. All of the above is fixable over time, but we definitely haven't performed to our best yet. Thankfully we have a manager who won't settle for second best and a quality group of players. Probably worth pointing out we've been quite slow starters throughout the Howe era. We'll be fine and if nothing else it’s good to see we've got our grit back.
