Is anyone actually suggesting this? Well people are suggesting we should sign him permanently, so by deduction, yes they are. As far as I can see, people are saying we should sign him because of his playing ability. Nobody even mentions wages/fees. If they want too much money or he wants high wages/long contract, then no it probably won't happen. Doesn't mean I don't want him here. What we gonna do, send them some stray change and pay him in Guinness? Of course the fee/wage would be ludicrous man, this is Spurs. I think what most are trying to say is that if he's available at the right price he'd be an improvement on the options we currently have. Ashley has shown over the last coule of seasons he isn't going to be throwing ludicrous amounts of money about, we've been signing relatively young players for a knockdown fees, I can't see him suddenly changing that policy for Pardew.

Krul 6 - Couldn't of done much about the goal, alright overall. Simpson 6 - Got forward alright but he was suspect at the back at times. Taylor 6 - Alright. Campbell 4 - Too slow, too sloppy, not good enough. Enrique 6 - Did alright defensively, sloppy going forward. Barton 8 - Man of the match for me, worked hard and looked a constant threat, deserved a goal. Nolan 7 - Looked better with him in the side today, put in a good shift and gave us the early advantage. Tiote 7 - More of the same, shame Campbell got him booked. Jonas 4 - Sloppy, didn't really look arsed. Carroll 8 - The lad's a monster in the air, great finish for the third. Shola 3 - A true return to form in recent weeks, he offered absolutely nothing. Ranger 8 - Not his greatest fan but he changed the game today, never let the back four rest. Pardew 8 - Picked the best possible line up, changed the game with the Ranger substitution well played. Still a twat though.

I'm just feeling completely apathetic, it really feels like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. I'm struggling to motivate myself to go and watch the game on Saturday I really am. It just feels too painful supporting the club and what it currently stands for.

I have and while I vaguely agree it certianly doesn't make it 'fascinating' nor 'interesting.' Probably the wrong choice of words to use. What I meant was that the idea was an interesting one, but wether this was viable for running a football club is another thing. Should it somehow work out, it will be interesting to see what the wider implications would be. Who knows, I thought I was totally apathetic towards the issue now, what do you know I'm still angry. For long term success I don't think it is viable, no manger worth his salt is going to accept those terms or any other condition along those lines. Hypothetically Ashley may luck out and Pardew may keep us up, still doesn't mean it's a sensible way to go about things. What if Pardew establishes us a Premier League side and he can't take us any further under the current ownership? No manager above his calibe is going to bite, we'll be looking at the also rans again, it just isn't sustainable. He dosent intend on taking us further than that imo, he simply intends to stay in the PL with, eventually, a reasonably low wage bill, and find a buyer to pay him a big price. In the meantime a yes-man can hold the forte for him. Sounds about right.

I don't think I would go there on those terms, not that they are a bad terms or anything, just I wouldn't trust Ashley not to change the rules.

Feeling apathetic to be honest, is this what my club stands for? This isn't Newcastle United and I don't like, I can quite easily see myself falling out of love with this club if Ashley remians at the helm.
