  1. Don't really care anymore. Is he going to sack him as soon as we go on a bad run of games?
  2. When you took over we were a shambles, a mess, relegation candidates according to some. However you took a squad in disarray and emphatically led to us back to the big time with some memorable moments along the way. For the first time in years a Newcastle squad had belief, togetherness and determination, a loss was never for the want of trying. A season later we sit 11th in the Premier League following memorable victories against Villa, Sunderland and Arsenal despite being among the favourites for the drop you turned us from no hopers into believers. Thank you Chris Hughton, your time in efforts are much appreciated and your spell in charge will never be forgotten. Best of luck for the rest of your career.
  3. Only an idiot wouldn't take survival this season. In the grand scheme of things, what's the difference between finishing anywhere between 11th and 17th? Er...Quite a lot?
  4. There’s no way we should rush into sacking Hughton when we’re still in what is a relatively healthy position. While the results at Bolton and West Brom were poor and may have raised question marks about his future they were down to injury and suspension as much as bad management. Personally I didn’t agree with the tactics yet, particularly in the first half, it’s the first time this season I’ve totally disagreed with something Hughton has done. Then again you look at the midfield and you can see other reasons we were may have been sitting so deep. Guthrie doesn’t exactly push on while Routledge struggled to get into the game and Jonas was sloppy in possession, we may not have been able to push out because the personnel were not good enough to do so. Either way yesterday’s first half was unacceptable. It’s easy to forget we’ve been without our first choice centre backs and possibly our most creative midfielder in recent week, it’s difficult to see how sides in our position wouldn’t struggle. Yet, we’re still in a relatively healthy position. We’re on a bad run, but we’ve shown we’re more than capable of picking up clusters of results that will give us the points we need to survive. At this moment in time I believe sacking Hughton would be counterproductive. We’d be heading into a busy Christmas period with no manager, a disappointed squad and a search for a replacement that may prove no better. Add to that he’s doing a relatively good job and I believe it would be foolish to sack him at this moment in time.
  5. No, no - you've got it all wrong. The target was European qualification and that's what all the fans demanded. We've in actual fact been relegated already due to a new rule that says the instant teams drop out of the top half of the table they're automatically doomed. Exaggerate the opinion you don't agree with - there's something I've not seen before. Aye, your a master at it.
  6. The tactics in the first half were baffling. We just invited them on for the entire half without even looking to get forward, awful.
  7. Think Jonas is coming in for a lot of unwarrented stick. He was as bad as anyone first half buy was probably our most creative in the second. Doesn't say much like.
  8. The most telling thing about the last couple of games is how thin the squad is. Get two or three first teamers out we're snookered.
  9. On the whole aye. Sounds daft when he scored but taking his game as a whole he beat Enrique once of note which resulted in his booking. He drifted inside for the goal which was a result of players being far too slow to close opposing players down.
  10. I can see Wolves putting a run together for sure. We're in for a serious struggle imo. You can see Wolves putting a run together but it's something we're not capable of?
  11. Your not far off with this in my opinion. I am a big fan of Enrique but this was the second time this season he has been poor. So Generous mark to Enrique who was raped by Tchoyi throughout the game. Routledge was another that was totally ineffective not sure how he could have had a higher mark than Jonas who was at least equally as poor. The whole team really was poor though bar Tiote, who was the only nufc player who really played well. Guthrie was terrible. Never thought i'd look forward so much to Nolans return. Barton should have played, where was he today? Tchoyi was pretty quiet on the whole. Also harsh on Jonas who was one of our better players in the second half.
  12. It's difficult to predict what we're going to do. I'll plump for a draw.
  13. The lack of Wilicini is costing us.
  14. Got it very, very wrong today in my opinion.
  15. Krul 5 - Didn't cover himself in glory for the second, kicking wasn't great either. Simpson 5 - Crap going forward, couple of nervous momnets with Thomas but did alright overall. Campbell 4 - Looked better as an attacking force, struggled all day with West Brom's pacey forwards. Taylor 5 - Wasn't great but didn't do a lot wrong. Enrique 7 - Defensively excellent, his passing was occasionally off going forward but offered more than most. Routledge 4 - Went missing for large parts of the match, pretty ineffective overall. Tiote 6 - Our best midfielderm looked tidy for the most part. Guthrie 3 - Awful, sat too deep, misplaced passes and rounded it off by giving away the second. Jonas 6 - Thought he was positive, not always effective but ran at players and whiped a few decent balls into the aream more threatening than most. Shola 2 - Might as well have not got off the bus, ambled about with little effect. Carroll 5 - Isolated but wasteful when he did get the ball, still a handful in the air. Lovenkrads 6 - Decent, good movement and offered something in the way of a threat. Smith 3 - Would be happy to never see him in the shirt again, awful. Ranger 4 - Too little to time to get into the game, especially out of position. Hughton 4 - Got his tactics horribly wrong in the first half and we were playing catch up from there. Players were sitting too deep and we rarely ventured out of our half. Second half was better but it was daft to bring Smith on when we needed some positivity from the midfield.
  16. Guthrie's not where near as bad as people are making out like. *Kiss of death*
  17. What a save from the Norwich keeper, brilliant.
  18. Stuttgart/Hoffenheim - Both sides to score Hannover DNB Chelsea -1 Blackburn Derby
