  1. Keegan claimed the rest of his NUFC contract (worth £8.5m) and his potential earnings over the next seven years at nearly £2.5m per year. Totalling about £25m, and based on loss of future earnings due to his reputation being ruined by NUFC's actions when he was employed by them. I don't see why it's despicable, he claimed what he (or more likely his lawyers) felt was the potential loss had this case tarnished his reputation as a top-level manager. Think this is something a lot of people are forgetting tbh. How are they forgetting it? There's NOTHING to indicate that his lawyers chose that amount. He'll have been told what the potential was, and gone ahead with it. Ok reading that back I picked a bad line to quote as it does imply his lawyers picked the amount. I meant people appear to be forgetting that he had legal representation and as such, would be more than likely pursuing the claim in the way they thought best.

  3. ""I very much regret that this claim ever had to go to the hearing as it did. I want to state categorically that the allegation that has been made in the press that I turned down an offer of £4 million to settle the claim is simply untrue. No such offer was made to me. " - Keegan's statement
  4. If you are unfairly sacked from a job - which essentially is what happened to Keegan - would you not want compensation? Not compensation to cover me until my 65th birthday I wouldn't... Even if your employer slagged you off meaning no one else in the profession would be likely to want to employ you? Because that's the basis here. Not taking sides as such btw (too lazy for that), just asking. But I believe that argument is bullshit, as was concluded by the arbitration panel. Especially as he already had an agreed compensation amount in his contract. Fair enough. I haven't even read all the PDF yet like (or statement as cp40 says), really should be doing some work.

  6. Why not 86 - 0? genuine question. I don't think my body could physically accept such joy.
  7. c***s Another kick in the balls for away fans.........what the hell is wrong with Sky? Suppose we should be grateful its not a further trip Fucking pisstake, that was the other 'definite' I had down to go to. Gonna be a right fuck on getting there as it is, without having to aim for an early kick off.
  8. Looking forward to the Derby game, love matches over the festive period and with the added bonus of extra pre-match drinking time.
  9. LBAB. Still know a few lads who like to bang on about all that. Btw I can't be arsed to check if I mentioned it earlier, but while I have criticised the song choice from L7 I am pleased that there are people starting songs, and just wish the rest of the ground would join in. It's almost an impossible task though, I sat in the Milburn from 2001 until this season and people just aren't interested in singing. Even in the L7 singing section the old fella sat next to me never made a peep last night until we scored, then after celebrating he went back to making no noise.
  10. No if you could read its the old some people sing a retarded song for large periods of a game and people disagree with it rhetoric. Where do you sit to get so uppity at this btw? For the record I do sit in the L7 corner and I joined in with the other songs. And in response to an earlier post, I know away fans expect to be abused, I just think it's a bit laughable to call their support shit when they had a pretty good following for a midweek game and made a fair bit of noise. As for starting songs - I'll be honest I don't, because I have a piss weak voice and it's embarrassing when no one joins in. But once a song has been started, I will join in if it's one I agree with.
  11. I would've been horrified if someone hadn't done that on Toontastic the other day.
  12. I was getting sick of this last night like. Far too many rounds of "get out of our club" including once when we were taking a freekick and once when we'd just won a corner (both when 1-0 down). I wish more of our fans would join in with positive songs. Thought QPR played a good game and we were unlucky not to concede more early on when they piled the pressure on. We had no shape in the first half and I was pleased Hughton had the balls to make the obvious sub - had a horrible feeling at half time that he was going to persist with Butt.
  13. Champions League Matches Bordeaux v Maccabi Haifa Bordeaux @ 1.28 Champions League Matches CSKA Moscow v Besiktas CSKA Moscow @ 1.70 Champions League Matches Real Madrid v Marseille Real Madrid @ 1.25 Champions League Matches AC Milan v FC Zurich AC Milan @ 1.18 Champions League Matches Man Utd v Wolfsburg Money-Back Special Man Utd @ 1.36 £5, not convinced it'll come off.
  14. I know bugger all about QPR but they have been picking up some good results. A little bit concerned, hope we go for it.
  15. Some canny results for us, hope we can capitalise.
  16. No idea. Pain in the arse for my bet with Cardiff 5-1 up.
  17. Have some perspective. Preston behind, West Brom 2 down. Win tomorrow and we could be 5 clear. Can't speak for others, but as I don't spend a great deal on bets (and therefore don't stand to win a shitload) I'd rather results went our way. Getting a profit is just a handy little bit on the side if it comes off.
  18. Pleased I stayed away from West Brom & Sheff U as I had doubts, but fucking Preston.
  19. Hate it when people whinge about this sort of thing. It's always mentioned in the T&C so it's your own stupid fault if you forget to cancel. Btw this is not a defence of NufcTV as I've never used it so I don't know if it's good/shit.
  20. Think it was just our home games we asked to be on Wednesdays.
  21. I was there and didn't see a single person crying at the time. I've since seen the clip you mention repeatedly, and just for the first time at the weekend I saw a different clip I'd not seen before of one lad comforting another who was crying.
  22. £5 on Preston/Boro/Cardiff. Returns £28.50.
  23. Hmm, apparently I put a fiver on Mallorca, Sunderland and Osasuna. Don't remember placing the bet, but I've got £29.75 back from it which more than covers the quids I've wasted on crap bets over the last week.
