That's my my go. Can't get three. Spoilered. Edit - just got one more. Both the Malian and Central African Republic player were French when they played for us. Malian can be worked out if you think of another Malian player with same name. To be honest just checked and the CAR player never actually capped for them (presumed he had later on, a bit like Kondogbia) but was born there.

Yeah I understood why they made the subs, and the manager probably gets critiqued if he does nowt, but honestly thought they should have probably just plugged away with their starting players. Boufal was a big miss when he went off.

Genuinely don't know why this game exists, tbh. Didn't watch either of the last two. Can't see why any player would want to play in it after having their dreams crushed days earlier. Also annoys me that a player could win golden boot off the back of it (admittedly not going to happen here).

It's also been by far their biggest attacking strength through the tournament, tbf. Both players only want to go forward. They have players in other areas to cover them defensively.

That was so frustrating to watch.

I'm not a real acolyte for it as a metric, particularly in tournament football, but Argentina have had the better xG than their opponents in all 6 of their matches. Compared to France who only have 3/5 for example. I think they've been underrated throughout the tournament because they can be a bit scrappy in possession, break in moments and do adapt their tactics slightly depending on opponents (even mid game) rather than sticking to a unabashed philosophy. But other than the second half against Saudi and first half against Mexico I think they've generally been really controlled and impressive throughout the tournament. I was also personally very glad they were able to dispatch Croatia yesterday comfortably - because I'm bored of people misinterpreting possession used as a defensive tool as being dominance in football terms.

Prefer nasty Messi than the one that used to just look sad and scratch his beard when things weren't working.

Qatar can't really lose now for the ol' propaganda machine. They've got both the potential pin up winners in Messi and Mbappe. Even a Morocco upset would be an Arab success + their best player also plays for PSG
