    Phil Parkinson to be appointed.
  2. He had a knee injury for that season. Letting him play for a wanker like Pulis was undoubtedly a poor decision, maybe too much confidence in a fellow professional. Regardless Wenger was always a fan of Gnabry and ended up letting him go as it was the best thing for his career and because the player himself pushed for it.
  3. Pretty sure Wenger gave him a decent run but got peters for Arsenal fans for persisting with him. Yeah that's bollocks. Wenger gave him decent game time in a far stronger team than West Brom. The loan was the chance for him to get first team football and Pulis played him once before giving up - essentially wasting a whole year of his career. After that Wenger begrudgingly sold him because his contract had a year to run and he couldn't guarentee him games week in week out. Gnabry himself pushed for the move away.
  4. I was going to say, I don't think you can really excuse the Balthazar stuff just because it's a tradition. You certainly can't just write off any critique as anglocentric bias. Spain's colonial and racial history is pretty similar to the UK, and as such any tradition that involves blacking up in such a way comes across pretty badly in a post-colonial European nation that now has a quite significant black population.

    Joelinton

Yeah they're a joke really. Top of the Bundesliga is packed full of these naff clubs while the bigger clubs flounder.
  7. Yeah it's brilliant. Kapadia is doing a Q&A showing of it next Wednesday at the Tyneside.
  8. Qatar aren't bad. You can tell they've all played together for years.
  9. The sport has completely jumped the shark with VAR like. The whole thing is a fucking nonsense as far as I'm concerned.
  10. The thing is even Ashley must realise he's another shitty gamble away from ending up with a permanent Championship club worth half what it is now and no global PL exposure for his brand. That would be the only thing that would make me think he'd be happy to scoop 350 mill upfront and move on.
  11. The more it's played out in public, and with them issuing comments, the less likely this is to happen.
  12. Was a great trip all round this. Had the weird experience of going down with a work colleague and finding out on the way back he's a poster on here with 10k+ posts
  13. I think i'll be out for a drink straight afterwards if we're doing that again? but probably not later on as the lass has taken the day off and i'm under the thumb.

That was one of the worst games of football I've seen in years
