He's a good fit at Forest, playing every week as the main man in a system that plays to his strengths, but he was hopeless for us and that wasn't ever changing. He could score 100 goals for Forest and it would still have been the right sale. The issue is that we didn't/weren't able to do exactly the same with Wilson and Almiron at the right time.

I think they arguably have too much 'value' tied up in him in terms of their overall squad. If Riad returns from injury in December it might make sense for them to cash in and strengthen other positions.

Honestly think the wide areas are our biggest issue. When we kind of fix one side, the other looks off. It's frustrating and isolates Isak even more considering the flat midfield 3. Can only blame recruitment tbh - how can it be so hard to find a right sided player.

Think he could have legitimately been shown a red for both the elbow and the tackle on Longstaff. At the very least both were yellows. And yet he has nowt - remarkable tbh.

I'm with you. Was willing to give it a chance but now think it's basically become a tedious procession, with little weight being given to games that should be heavyweight clashes. Inter have rested 4-5 of their best players tonight because the league game at the weekend is bigger, and they know they're probably already through this early on. The new format has reduced the jeopardy rather than increase it.

He's been playing as a support striker behind the other lad though, and they've been banging them in between them. 8 goals (4 assists) in 13 this season isn't bad anyway. I'm still glad we didn't sign him, as pretty sure we'd have not got Isak, but you can see he's got a lot of ability now he's gone to the right kind of club to play for.

Rodri is obviously an exceptional footballer but I still think it reflects pretty negatively on the level of football as of right now, in terms of what you would consider to be superstar talent, that he's Ballon D'or winner and it isn't really questionable.
