Cavani is frustrating as fuck. Can't stand watching him for PSG at times. Too inconsistent to be a top 10 for me. Absolutely fantastic on his day though I agree he's not top 10 or whatever but people constantly make out that he's shit. He scored 31 goals last season despite playing out of position for Ibrahimovic half the time. There's also this thing about him apparently flopping against English teams in Europe, but he has 5 in 8 in the CL against City and Chelsea.

Since 2008 we've only bought Cisse and Santon from the top four leagues in Europe. Colback/Gosling/Campbell etc were frees and obviously Obertan isn't a human let alone a footballer so doesn't count. Clearly this is a problem. There's undoubtedly good players everywhere, but when your entire transfer policy is built around the fringes of European football and specifically only a handful of those fringes it is gonna be problematic simply through a law of averages. I wrote a pretty scathing post about our transfer policy on here recently, but this is another general trend that's worth noting.
