A temporary manager watching the juniors? Seems a little suspicious to me.
-
Don't care me (although I guess we need him for the run-in), in the long term I'll be glad that players desperate to party rather than play do leave.
-
7/10 Only questions I got wrong were the ones with nowt to do with Shearer.
-
I wonder if there's ever been a team whose manager's name gets cheered after every goal?
-
Shearer! Shearer! Shearer! Complete with arms extended and pointing. Like the good old days.
-
I don't think he found either. Vetere did. Wise just sealed the deals and did the negotiations.
-
It looks like Dowie is walking faster than Geremi is running.
-
That's what SAF does. I read somewhere that SAF is rarely even at training sessions. I think Martin O'Neill or someone said he hardly ever spoke so when he did speak the players would listen.

Odds on Ashley stumbling in holding a can of Strongbow, shouting: 'Shearer! Shearer!'?

Lets hope we don't see this face too much, we want him smiling.

People still going on about the Henry thing? **** me. Keegan said in an interview if he could sign anyone in the world it would be Henry. Press say Keegan want's Henry. WRONG. Keegan leaves. Press say because he was demanding Beckham, Lampard, Henry. WRONG You can track the rumour from the start, its rubbish.

This is what worries me most. I was thinking the other day, I'd hate our team in a few years full of people who couldn't give a ****, and just go through the motions. This won't happen under Shearer.

12.00pm apparently, unless anything changes.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7975700.stm Guess I'm wrong then. He's floundering when he hears the question, he's blatently thought further ahead.
-
He isn't here for 8 games, guaranteed. Ashley can't let him leave and bring Kinnear back as the fans would go mental. He'd be signing his own death certificate.
-
Owen will stay if Shearer kept on long term. The Guardian. Good news IMO, although I know some will disagree. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/apr/01/alan-shearer-michael-owen-newcastle-united

That statement makes it sound like Kinnear will be back in charge after the season Dowie wouldn't have came in if it was for 8 games only.

A Geordie in charge of Newcastle =

Good Question. It took Keegan 9 or 10 games last season to get his first win, and they only drew 3 of them before finally beating Fulham. good point. the state we're in and the timing of the appointments means a 'period of adjustment' will almost certainly relegate us. Unlike Keegan last season shearer has no time to learn from his errors and must hit the ground running, which is a huge ask no matter who the manager is. im just praying the impact of his arrival motivates to pick up the points. The difference is Shearer watches us regularly from his box at the ground so he'll have a fair idea what he's got to work with. Shearer's not the type to go into a job like this in blind hope so he must think he's got a good shot at saving the situation. i suppose we'll see after his first two or three games. i can see him falling into the trap of building the side around butt, owen, duff, nolan and excluding some of the foreigners (martins, colo, enrique, jonas) but let's hope he's more sense than that. Given that his best service at Newcastle was arguably from Robert and Nobby, I doubt he's gonna be some xenophobic manager.

No Jonas = No Argie win Getting beat 2-1 in Bolivia atm.
