  1. Pleased for West Ham, met a fair few of their fans in London and they're generally salt-of-the-earth types who are annoyed at the goings-on at their club 90% of the time with no huge expectations of improvement Always saw the parallels with us in that respect, and it's good we've both been allowed to have nice things this season in the end.
  2. Yeah if that's true it's a mental price for an upcoming but established international and a wonder 6 or 7 clubs weren't throwing money at him. Must be add-ons, surely.
  3. Well lah de fucking dah. Some of us don't mind stabby. I live in Brixton which is a bit shooty. Never done me any harm. I remember when this was a working class sport.
  4. I can see why Spurs fans are pissed off. They seemed on the cusp of something special a few years back and have ruined it with managerial appointments and signings that have left them looking a far worse side. Plus the football they play has been dreadful for ages. We know better than most that with results and style of play, you can forgive one being bad but not both. Especially for a prolonged period.
  5. Mudryk looks shit tbh, have very high hopes he'll end up being a flop. Poch has his work cut out joining that all together, no matter how good he is. Especially if Boehley keeps sticking his oar in.
  6. Far too often, De Gea decides he just can't be arsed diving for stuff.
  7. Has his whole career ahead of him tbf.
  8. Couldn't tell you whether it is more difficult technically but Almiron's had the ball dropping over his shoulder a la Van Basten, plus he's looped it over the keeper into the top corner which always looks good, plus it's with the outside of his boot from a weird angle. AND you've got the silky play before it including an inch-perfect lobbed pass by Bruno. Maxi's is a comparatively dull volley into the bottom corner that the keeper should have dived at, with no team buildup play to add to its quality. It's a very good goal but Miggy's was far more special, unusual and memorable imo. I'd have been completely unsurprised to see Almiron's as overall GOTS, the first time I saw it live I thought that looks exactly that type of goal because it just stands out. And as much as I love loads of our others I don't think I could say the same about any of them. I think maybe some of our fans (probs not you ) maybe underrate it because they know how one-footed he is, therefore he sort of had to hit it that way because he had no other choice. TLDR - Yeah I really like Almiron's goal and no I can't marry it because I'm already married.
  9. This is exactly it. "Giggs" has its own meaning on here but really it should mean gatecrashing an award you have no right to be given if applying its normal and intended parameters. Guardiola has done a Giggs - it's not an egregious Giggs, it's a mild Giggs, but it's still a Giggs. Giggs.
  10. Man City weren't even that impressive in the PL overall, by their recent historical standards. Seems like them wanting to recognise 3 titles in a row with this award. It should be an award based on achievements versus how relatively hard the job was, with some additional focus on style and performances. In which case, Howe wins by a landslide.
  11. Nelson placing highly can only be because of context, because it was a last minute winner at a time when Arsenal appeared to be bottling the league, months before they did actually thoroughly bottle the league.
  12. It was a really good goal but like ON says I feel like I've seen plenty similar over the years. Generally GOTS feels a bit more unique, like Wilshire's team goal many years ago, or Giroud's scorpion kick. If it's a blastie with good technique then I'd expect something special in the buildup, or it to be a volley or something, for it to warrant GOTS. Almiron's is definitely a better goal as there are more elements to it and the finish is more unique and memorable.
  13. We had 5 league losses by Game 8 (October 17th) last season
  14. And Isak's vs West Ham was arguably not the best long range hit with the keeper flapping about miles from his line (Wilson again missing out, away vs Spurs). I went for Miggy at Fulham as it had a combination of a ludicrous and unusual finish, a lovely move and a great assist by Bruno.
  15. Cheers, and well done too. I genuinely forgot about FH til last week. Never had another week I was struggling to field at least 9 or 10+ so it never got used.
  16. Should definitely be a best Murphy meme question btw, the options are numerous. Lad's a meme machine. This was definitely mine:
  17. As you can see from my answers, that Spurs home game was streets ahead of anything else imo. Even with their issues, it was fantasy stuff going 5-0 up inside 20 minutes in the manner we did. And the rest of the game we controlled rather than dominated, because there was no need to exert too much energy on doing the latter
  18. Player of the Season: Trippier Most Improved Player of the Season: Almiron Most Disappointing Player: ASM Signing of the Season: Isak Goal of the Season: Almiron at Fulham Assist of the season: Willock to Isak vs Spurs Game of the Season: 6-1 vs Spurs Moment of the Season: Going 5-0 up inside 20 minutes vs Spurs Manager rating out of 10: 10 Season rating out of 10: 9.9 (had a chance to finally finish above Man Utd but that'll come )
  19. Think I won the N-O league 8.7k OR, previous highest ever was 289k
  20. Lewis Hall has a Howe / Ritchie face.
  21. he's always absolutely furious he's not watching 22 robots.
  22. it hits different when he's slagging the opposition instead of us. Fill your boots, Gaz
