  1. Diaby's tiny like, so maybe that's why. Explosive pace though, which I'd argue we could do with more of.
  2. Ceiling comments aside, Liverpool genuinely seem to have spent a fucking fortune the last few years like.
  3. Everyone was kicking off 25 years ago when Sky wanted to buy them, never mind the UK government.
  4. Don't worry, he'll be rubbish by then.
  5. Christ, 3rd in Europe. Thank God Ashley made us so financially stable
  6. Is there a maximum wage/turnover ratio under FFP or are there just guidelines? Ours was apparently 95% in April.
  7. agreed but in terms of FFP. I know all PL clubs bring in £100m+ these days but transfer spends of £100m+ aren't uncommon and wages must be costing a hell of a lot too. Just feels like a never ending spiral of cost that can't be covered by TV money etc forever.
  8. "buy cheap, buy twice" and that, was more commenting on Romano's narrative-setting though. There must be a hell of a lot of PL clubs operating at 90% wage/turnover, or thereabouts. Us included. Struggling to see how so many seem to make the maths work.
  9. And Romano saying they're paying "way less than the release clause", some definite bias there mind That's a lot for a centre half.
  10. I'm sorry Nic Jackson, ooh Hope it's an ordeeeeeeal
  11. Ohhhhh. @Rich where did you get this guy from, man?!
  12. error in judgement? Why does it say that? That fucking photo is enough for me to side with Rich, mind
  13. @Mike can you pls explain specifically why it says "8tmosphere"? I can then make an informed decision on whether I side with you or the adminisaurus.
  14. To "I am the music man" He is the magic man, he comes from Italy, and he can playyyy Where can he playyyy? He plays in midfield Tona-Tona-Tonali, Tonali, Tonali Tona-Tona-Tonali, Tona-Tonali
  15. Leicester finished 9th, 5th, 5th, 8th in Maddison's first 4 seasons at Leicester (and won an FA Cup) - to ignore that and put their relegation last season at his and Barnes' door is about as reductive as disregarding Howe's record at Bournemouth other than the relegation season at the end. There were lots of things fundamentally wrong at Leicester last season - well publicised financial issues last summer, Rodgers' methods can eventually stop working as we've seen before, the managerial change was left quite late and was lacklustre, and there was a real imbalance in the squad with lack of nous and leadership towards the end. Maddison has been a standout PL performer for many years now and I personally don't count last season as much of a black mark against him, if at all. Would be delighted if we signed him, and trust Howe would have no issues fitting him in.
  16. Have fun doing all that admin, @Rich?
  17. Howe won't look for excuses for anything so I'll try to follow suit, my actual disposition means I'd have much preferred an easier start though Any new signings aren't likely to be properly hitting their stride until about October, when we have some kinder fixtures to bed them in fully.
  18. It's a new dawn It's a new day It's a new life For Luke And he's feeling bald
  19. I believed the hype about Sancho based mostly on clips I'd seen of him, rather than that many games. What's the craic with him, is it the Bundesliga illusion at play again? He was the most universally tipped prospect in Europe.
  20. The profile of the players means it's just a new pre-retirement destination that doesn't really impact the major European leagues at all. All 30+, with their best years behind them.
