  1. "I'm saying nothing about boos in this place".
  2. His link-up play's fantastic when there's something on.
  3. Good stuff, we're at our most dangerous when we don't have the ball. They're keeping the ball, threatening every time. We've got them right where we want them. They're absolute mugs, this lot like.

  5. Not many at Newcastle So what you on about then? Surely you judge him against the alternatives. I was giving my view on him. Versus players that are too good for Newcastle? I hate Perez, he's nowhere near as good as Messi was at that age. I'm saying if your view of someone having a good game is performing impeccably in both attack and defence for 90 minutes and Ben Arfa only had 3-4 such games then it's a pointless point to make if you're saying the same goes for most other NUFC players.
  6. Having looked at the tables on Statto I'm inclined to agree now, can distinctly recall feeling at the time like we were sinking like a stone before he went though.

  8. We were definitely hoofing it up to Owen and Martins. Obviously made zero sense.
  9. Morons , but they have a point. I only saw him have about 3/4 consistently good games and I go to most What does that mean, "3/4 consistently good games?" 3 or 4 games where he played consistently well all the way through rather than just a spell in the game. Played the game correctly and worked as a team player with obviously his personal skills used to their best when needed Think Laurent Robert had zero.
  10. How many players in recent years have you seen have a lot of consistently good games if that's your definition? Let's exclude defenders and goalkeepers.
  11. I don't think it's revisionist tbh, he found a formula that worked and stuck to it which sounds simple but seems to be beyond a lot of managers. Playing 3 out and out centre forwards seemed daft at the time, even for one game and I'd never have had Owen down for that role, but it worked and we saw some great football. Still pisses me off that he left, we wouldn't have won the league or owt daft like that but he won me around after thinking it was a daft appointment to begin with and it was brilliant having a man like Keegan managing our club again.
  12. I thought we were going down under Allardyce, I'd have to look at the results again but it felt like our performances and form took a huge nosedive before he left. Thought it was indicative of the mess we were in that it took Keegan so long to sort it out when he arrived.
  13. I was amazed by how off the pace he looked at times when seeing him up close at West Ham. Slowly jogging behind the player with the ball rather than busting a gut to get it back. Honestly don't think he gives 100% at all, unless his stamina's that shit that he's loitering around half-arsed for large periods of the game.
  14. My mate got me a ticket. Apologies if you were taken by the idea of winning a cup.
  15. Hope so, the pride is just starting to wear off after the moral victory against Man City in August.
  16. I might be wrong here but I have gift for recalling useless football information from that time period so maybe not. I'm pretty sure we only got beat by more than 2 goals during his first reign once - a 0-3 at Loftus Road. Twice if you include the Charity Shield. None of this getting smashed 10 times a season.
  17. When did you decide Ben Arfa's main problem was not having a set of balls rather than not being managed correctly?
  18. You're just increasingly Captain Hindsight these days, but have a habit of making out you've always said it.
