  1. We're better now though, he wouldn't be coming back as a guaranteed starter for a start. I can see the argument for perhaps getting better value for money elsewhere. However I don't know, maybe I rated his performances for us more highly than those saying they'd never have him back, I just thought he was looking ace for us before he left and could see him coming here and doing a job. Plus a loan with a view to a permanent deal surely suits us down to the ground, it might even delay / eliminate the desire for us to get rid of one of our better players for big money soon.
  2. If they turn that £35m loss into a £20m loss or whatever then it's still terrible but it's obviously not so bad. Isn't exactly a queue of clubs willing to give them their money back.
  3. Maybe i have missed something as the post are coming fast and furious and i am skim reading them. What stops Liverpool from taking him back after the season if he does amazing and selling him on to another club for a bigger fee than arranged with us? or is that not an option? I think a lot of these loans with an option to buy have a fixed fee at the end of it where the loaning club gets first option. Might be wrong, just seems to ring a bell. If so then that would be a good deal for us but if not then I'd share you concerns.
  4. Can't believe people don't think he has more to his game than this after seeing such a vast improvement in his overall game in the space of 12 months with us. As me and a few others said at the time, it was probably the steepest improvement I've ever seen in a player within that amount of time. He's gone backwards a bit now of course, but he's still young. His all round game during those 12 months (call it a purple patch if you like, whatever) was outstanding, he was arguably the best striker in the league before Christmas in our first season back up and he was looking like a total world beater.
  5. I was against the loan idea to begin with but if we could get him back for a year and have an agreement that we get him for a certain fee then it's a good deal - if he does well then great let's have him for less than half of what we sold him for, if he bombs then he's Liverpool's expensive problem again.
  6. Thanks Dave, £13m does seem a bit high considering how far his stock has fallen but considering his potential, his nationality and the fact he's been up here and scored goals already then it's not really that bad. Would prefer to pay no more than £10m but the guy will have re-sale value and Ashley will know this. If he comes back and does moderately well then a Stoke or a Villa will probably pay canny money for him if we want to offload for whatever reason. I'm more concerned about his wages and whether he'll get in a strop at having to be on the bench regularly. Also can't help thinking that Tiote or someone is away if we're willing to spend £20m on Carroll and Debuchy and perhaps another £10m on additional signings, but I have faith in our ability to replace adequately.
  7. Seriously can't be arsed to read the last 15 pages, can anyone offer a summary? More details of the deal? Any N-O meltdowns yet?

No, it was when we signed Seb Larson. Can't even spell his name right. Tell me, why did you sign up on here? And how did you end up with a Sky.com email address? I just wanted to be involved, is this a local forum for local people, or can anyone join in ? I wish N-O had a 3 foreigners rule. Alas no, cosmopolitan as fuck unfortunately.
  10. The Giggs thing's definitely got out of hand now like, there's no stopping it.
  11. But are any pre-season friendlies really "must-win"? I'd still trot out mostly youngsters against Monaco. Aye couldn't give a fuck if we won or lost tbh, it's a run out. Learn from the Germans.
  12. Even more must-win than the last one, especially considering we didn't win that one, which we surely should have done given that it was a must-win. Must-win.

Amalfitano has a bit of the Paddy Considine about him.
  15. He's a self-important little tosser.
  16. Ah well, I'm watching Raw on SS3 instead. Fuck off John Cena you phoney little wanker.
  17. Biggest game in 2 months, howay the lads.
  18. http://reallylikefootball.com/ (By that tehtrunk guy off Youtube, as previously mentioned my mate works with him).
  19. Have no problem with Pardew's quotes for a change. 7th or 8th works for me if we reach the semi finals / further in one or two of the cups. The trophy monkey's been on our back for far too long, needs sorted and if we get to that stage then I'd back us against most teams in a one off game. Fucking dying to see us win something basically and we completely write off the cups far too often. 43 years without a trophy is ridiculous for a club of our size, hell I'd be more than happy with bottom half if we won the FA Cup or Europa League. Although that might not represent progress to some I personally think it could be the start of us picking up the odd trophy here and there much like Liverpool or Spurs have over the last 20-odd years, while we've had some amazing league campaigns (and watched some pure shite as well) over the same period of time.
  20. nah, for a while we were just crap. We did that stupid kick-off under Robson, makes complete sense now. Don't remember that? Wtf is Lundekvam doing coming out with all of this, the numpty? We used to hoof the ball into the corner straight from kick off for the opposition to take a throw in near their own byline iirc.
  21. Also, do the big betting sites do markets on stuff like first throw in? Seems ridiculously open to abuse, more so than results, goalscorers, most corners and the like. Suppose you can get markets on individual players getting booked I think, which is probably equally open to abuse.
  22. FIFA looking into this Lundekvam thing, couldn't he go to jail for something like this? How is it different to the cricket thing other than that it was ages ago?
  23. Does Lee Ryder think that all tweets to him are from the same person? Somebody should tell him.
  24. OK then I'll do it, shouldn't the thread title be "mulled over"? Unless it means that the Arab's interest is heating up, hohohoho.
  25. EthiGeordie's no mug, be a shame to see Ashley go when it's going so well.
