Good to see him back on the pitch but with that brief cameo, I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed. Understandably he would be rusty, but still disappointed. Quite slow and unable to retain possession. Nonetheless, more game time will suffice.
Looks can deceive. His performance tonight was promising to say least, especially when you couple that with his Chelsea performance. One of our top prospects along with Vuckic and Ranger. I'm just wondering whether the club will keep him around because of the lack depth on the left hand side or opt to loan him out.
It really seems like we have cheated this time. We have avoided putting the hard yards and got a great signing. There's clearly something sinister going on in the background of NUFC.
Unlike most of his appearances, he seemed to have minimised the amount of times he was caught offside at Wigan. That in itself represents an improvement in what frustrated me with his play this season.
From what I have seen, this is certainly not game over. We can still get back in this, as I have observed with our attacking movements after the Barry and Tevez goals. It all lies with Pardew to push the eleven that bit further to get the goals. Refine that sloppiness and we could get the draw I predicted.
