I saw him sitting with the subs during the match. Heard he was ill just before ko

The fact that Guthrie is either not picked or rarely picked in the centre seems to make people believe he is a beasting centre mid. Face it, he's been crap through the centre and crap out wide. Nolan, Butt or Smith instead of Guthrie? Please...
-
Gutierrez Guthrie Barton Routledge THAT has to be our new midfield. I won't be happy unless this displayed. I am going to be furious for the rest of the season.

Performances such as this one make me go absolutely blank when even considering how we'll perform in the PL if promoted.
-
Jose Enrique, Gutierrez & Barton must come back ASAP. Absolutely horrible performance which had me ****ting my pants the whole way through.
-
Nolan... Doesn't look like he wants to move anywhere around the pitch. Typical

A month or so into last season. I've enjoyed watching football for many years but the lack of a decent league in Australia limited my opportunity to catch some games. I made the choice to commit to a English team and the Toon got the pick. Why, you might ask. It was the closest EPL team to where my ancestors are from, my great grandfather moved from Scotland to Newcastle, Australia (100km or so north of Sydney), and I recognised Shearer. I couldn't give a flying **** about how we were doing, I just knew this was it and I haven't looked back. Experiencing relegation in the first season is a strange thing, perhaps not a jarring a feeling as the more seasoned supporters but it has only made me love the club more (and hate a fat man called Mike Ashley )

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
Nordstrom replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
Absolutely ecstatic with the deal. Did not see that coming, hence making it just that much more sweet. Hopefully Routledge can slot in without much disturbance. -
As much as I respect Arsene, he proposal is absolutely rubbish. Instead of whining, he should approach the problem the proper way. Sign someone.
-
If true, I presume Pancrate signing would mean that Raylor would be pushed down to RB?
-
Superb. Means might be able to catch another game on TV.

The long road ahead. What next for Newcastle United?
Nordstrom replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
If Mike Ashley is adamant that he will sell a promoted NUFC, then I hope we can secure promotion as quickly as possible. An extra few weeks at the end of this season would do wonders in such a sale and would give us time to make proper changes going into the Premier League for the next. -
Arguably Butt has improved after returning from injury but sadly that improvement only comes of use in non-league football and coaching. Nice bloke but past it; looking forward to him being taken off the way bill.

I personally believe that we'll have our good days and our bad days in regards to performance in this league and we'll stick walk away with promotion. The big thing I'm worried about is if we keep that trend up if we are back in the PL. We simply can not perform in the way we currently play in the PL. I honestly hope that we sign players in the January window which are capable of performing well in the PL, or we'll see a profound culture of complacency within the club. Hughton needs to get our squad to perform well and control play. Over the past few games, we've always been on the back foot in the first half yet come back modestly in the second half. Tbh, this isn't acceptable at all and MUST be rectified immediately. Our win against Sheffield wasn't deserving (bar performances from Harper and Enrique). I hoped we'd play some interesting football in this league but we're only getting scrappy wins. I'm very disappointed.
