Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan
Nexumaster replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
I doubt we'll have 52000 every week if we go down (and possibly down again - we've been lucky the last two times). How much will the club be worth he won't invest in players and we hit League 1? -

Nothing changes his position I suppose, but for us as fans it seems a lot more likely that it won't happen and he'll walk. That's the thing I'm worried about. Sign nobody, lose Rafa, get relegated, Ashley stays forever. That’s my fear now. Not sure how Ashely doesn't get this. He could keep his grip as it is - but it won't ever get his money back or a good price. Now is the best time to sell from his position. We'll never be worth more under him, only less. -

Why is dummett tucked in there? And if that is his job, why isnt atsu further out than he is as it is played across the field? FFS -

We'll get drawn away at Norwich v Chelsea winner. Chelsea will smash Norwich second time of asking and then beat us 1-0. -
I wouldn't take him for any less than 7m and that obviously won't happen. I think he'd show more strength than any of our forwards, but as others have pointed out, it's been misplaced aggresion this season and it seems Rafa isn't keen on that.

Howie sticking up for us on SkySports News. Comparing how West Ham are shutting up shop like we did, asking whether Moyes will get praised or get stick for it.
-
I'd keep him, but utilise him as a sub. He could be useful and industrious when we've tired sides out a bit more.

2 months without a victory. It's not like we're unlucky either... edit: Voted 7. 2 or 3 wins from the next games including middle of january would help alot. And currently sat in the relegation zone. While it doesn't mean that's how it will end up, there is no clearer indication. Sitting below that little line at this stage in a season should have everyone voting 6 or higher.

This aged well. Has it been announced then?

I'm an 8 based on the fact that the takeover won't happen. I think as it stands we obviously aren't the worst team but when the takeover doesn't happen, Rafa leaves, confidence is sapped and injuries pile up I think it will crumble. A lot rides on the takeover, not for money for January as I don't think there will be time for that now, but in terms of keeping our manager and instilling some confidence in players.

Chelsea A 0 pts Leicester H 0pt Everton H 3pts Arsenal A 0pts West Ham A 3pts Man City H 0 pts Brighton H 1pts I reckon that shouldn't be too hard to do.

He said the linesman wasn't up with play as well. Very annoying because it came at a time when we were well on top and I think had we got the goal we would have gone on to win it. Agreed. Even if they'd still had a good second half and snatched a goal, we'd have one point more than we do now. -

RefWatch on skysports news: Gayle not offside - goal should have stood. I wouldn't mind so much if we were well beat, but tight margins like that can make all the difference come the end of the season. -
Burnley vs. Newcastle United - 30/10/17 @ 8pm (Sky Sports)

There will be no more than 2 goals max. 1-1, 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 - hard to know which way it will go exactly but there won't be many goals (barring a total collapse from either team and both seem well organised enough atm). -
I'd be giving Mitro a chance now. Or at least change it at 50 minutes if we're losing at Burnley and aren't looking like coming up with a reply.

This. Here I am deciding whether to go for Lukaku or Sterling. It's sods law, always the one I don't pick.
-
Yep, decent players who are underperforming - a bit of organisation and they'd steady a bit, make him look like a world class manager again before fucking off quickly enough to avoid the drop or having to challenge the top half.

This has made my day

Was chatting with a Liverpool fan at work about the game. He said the game illustrated why he was annoyed to let Shelvey go, as Henderson is meant to link their play together but is pretty average, passing sideways a lot. Makes you wonder if Shelvey in the England squad last night would have been more useful. Obviously he needs to keep his head on his shoulders and work hard.

Made a great save. Top draw. But looking at their goal again, why the fuck does he lean back? Surely if he stand up straight it's easy to catch/punch? I think he's trying to tip it over the bar out of danger but misses it completely.
-
I don't want to get carried away. Two wins, yes, but against what could turn out to be two of the worst teams in the league this season: WHam & Swansea. Crystal Palace we should also look to beat. On the other hand, I don't mind losing to Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea if we're beating the teams in the bottom half to keep us up - not very ambitious but something to build on then. Swings and round-abouts.

Reset the poll, I'm at a high 9!
