  1. They’ll sack him before the final, assuming both of us get there.
  2. If it wasn’t for Covid, we were going down. When we came back, many clubs just wanted to play out the season to get it over and done with. We were able to gain the points from it and gain confidence. The next season which was also largely played behind closed doors is where Bruce benefitted without having the fans on his back. It’s absolutely no surprise that we were going down without a whimper as soon as fans were allowed back in.
  3. It’s a Richard Keys opinion piece, so it’s 110% wrong, and 150% said to gain attention. The only surprising thing is he never suggested Howe as his replacement, just to fuck off our fanbase once again.
  4. Isak will outscore him if he plays the same amount of games for us as Shearer did. In the Premier League alone, if he played the same 303 games for us as Shearer did, then he is on course to score 193 goals for us, compared to Shearers 148.
  5. Outside of London, Manchester has had huge amounts of government funding in the last 20-25 years, so the government can say that they invest in the North. Manchester is like a Northern London now. It is now in a position where any sort of development company would be willing to invest in a regeneration project without the government kicking starting it. On top of this, the regeneration project is being kick started by arguably the biggest and one of the richest football clubs in the country, arguably the world, with many investors being multimillionaire’s and billionaires. The rest of the country gets no funding at all. Half a mile away from SJP you have the Gateshead flyover that is closed because it’s falling down, with the government refusing to give the council money to tear it down, and have rejected giving it funding twice in recent years so it could be taken down before it got to this state. The Tyne bridge is still awaiting its final pot of money to be approved to finish its refurbishment, which is at least 5 years overdue, again due to budget restraints imposed on local councils. The Redheugh bridge they fear is going the same way as the Gateshead flyover, again no funding for it. The grade 2 listed High level bridge is going to need a complete rebuild in the coming years, again it has lacked funding from central government. Let’s see how fast the government are willing to give money to us to develop the Strawberry land when we announce our stadium developments.
  6. Didn’t the guy who covers NUFC for the Shields Gazette say that it’s a £200m budget? £200m would give us an excellent training facility, but I doubt we are getting a mini stadium for the academy and women’s team for that.
  7. Player is already past him when he goes for the challenge. He’s only ever catching the player, and only ever catching the player from behind. On top of this, it’s stopping a promising counter attack for Wolves. It’s a challenge that everyone has always thought is dirty, and has always thought that there should be more punishment for other than a red card, and a free-kick in a non-dangerous position. In reality it should always have been a red card, because of the lack of intent of getting the ball, and because of the denying of a chance at goal. We have just been conditioned to think it’s a yellow, because that’s all that has ever been given.

Sorry like, but Manchester is one of the last places the government should be providing funding too for projects such as this. London and the South East aside, Manchester is the number one place where private companies will be lining up to invest in. Funding should be going to places that are struggling for funding from private companies.
  9. It’s not a poorly timed tackle though. He had no chance of getting to the ball, he’s gone to do him, and he’s only ever going to do him from behind as well. The fact that it prevented a counter attack as well just compounds it.
  10. A tactical foul is malice to be honest.
  11. I agree with Edwards on this. It’s about people in the media were called out on that sort of shit.
  12. Arsenal fans still hate Ryan Shawcross and Stoke City for that accident which broke Ramsey’s leg in a complete fluke of a challenge. It actually wasn’t even foul, he was just incredibly unlucky.
  13. He’s been great for us. I made a post a little while back about how he was the player we needed at the time when we got him and people mistake what he was when we got him, to what we need going forward.
  14. 🥰 They aren’t as big of a club as people think though.
  15. Southampton are a small club. They have managed to make themselves seem bigger because for decades they have had no competition on the South coast, and they have had a good academy. Now that pretty much every club on the South coast is getting their act together, and the Premier League is more competitive, meaning that they can no longer just stroll around and stay in the Premier League, the fans are not bothering to turn up and they are being shown up not being anything special. They are just another Tory city/town who accidentally have a football team instead of a Rugby club.

He is a Newcastle fan, isn’t he? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that he is.
  17. 153 goals away from breaking Shearers record for us. If he has 10 years with us like Shearer did, he’ll break it, and I think he’ll break the 300 barrier.
  18. I’ve not said what I want, obviously I want us to get Champions League football, and to win the domestic cups. All I’m saying is what I think may happen. I think we’ll miss out on top 4, I think ultimately Man City and Chelsea will get those places. Top 5 is very possible for us, but the commotion will be hard. We’ll be up against Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa, with potentially Bournemouth in the background. If we do win the League Cup, then I think the fact that we do have some sort of European football next season, as well as the lift winning a trophy would give us, as well as releasing pressure, would mean that we’d have a decent run at the end of the season. To be brutally honest, if you offered me winning the League Cup, and us falling out of the European positions and only get the Conference League as a result of winning the League Cup, I’d snap your hand off right now. I’d even offer an embarrassing repeat of the Birmingham Cup result from something like 18 years ago when we lost 5-1 to them as well.
  19. I honestly don’t think we’ll get top 4, but 5th is a possibility, and if England gets the 5th Champions League place, I think we’ll almost certainly get a European place. We also have to consider that if we do somehow manage to win the League Cup, we’ll get European football no matter what. I actually think us winning the League Cup will give us the best chance of Champions League football, as the pressure will be off us for the final 2 months of the season and it might just free us up to go for it.
  20. It’s not classed as violent conduct, so it will only be a 1 match ban in anyway, regardless though, we all know through Pope’s red card, that it would apply if it was.
  21. Not classed as violent conduct, so only likely to be a 1 match ban.
  22. With their injuries, and their style of play, I think they will burn out.
  23. Not a pretty game, aside from our 2nd goal and our 3rd. We should have made it easier, and should have went for more goals, however a win is a win.
