Some PIF advertising in the CWC match there.

So here is a question. Let’s assume we get a Leazes Park/Castle Leazes stadium. However there is a good chance that if it is located there, then the pitch orientation would change from the North/South one we have now, to an East/West orientation. In this scenario which goal end would people prefer to have has our home end? I’d say an East goal end would be closer to the city centre. You could argue that it would be better having away fans nearer to Barrack Road as well.

6-0 for Bayern Munich at half time.

Aye game done, the European teams are going to absolutely dominate this tournament. I wonder how long the Americans will continue to be interested in it once Inter Miami and Messi are out.

He is, or originally was a CM.

I actually think we’ll get Spurs or Arsenal away first. This would mean that Sunderland would get the other at home.

I want to avoid being the first team at Everton’s new ground, and the first to play them midweek under the lights. I’d be happy having someone like Brighton, or Bournemouth away first, somewhere where we usually lose, get it over and done with, hopefully we can catch them before they get going. The same applies for Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.

It’s worth bearing in mind that even though Chelsea’s loopholes helped them with Premier League PSR, it doesn’t help with UEFA’s. So if we did try Chelsea like sales of assets, we would likely be kicked out of the Champions League and Europe in general. Chelsea will escape being kicked out because of their ‘stature’, ours is less, and also the Qatari’s will be very happy to twist the knife in with UEFA in their back pocket. I get the frustration over the stadium, and the training ground. The training ground frustration is much more relatable. We really should know what we want to do now, and where. The stadium situation is harder though. Up until recently, any official fan survey has always said that staying at SJP was the preferred choice. We also need to know how many fans we need to accommodate. We needed time for things to settle down after the takeover to judge if ticket demand was just spiking, or continuously rising. Also since the pandemic, event attendance across the western world has risen across the board. You look at Arsenal now wanting to increase capacity of the Emirates to 80k in a stadium that is just shy of 20 years old. I would dare to say that if Levy was building Spurs’ stadium, they would be looking at an 80k capacity as well. We need to take time to asses the demand and other requirements correctly, so that in 5 years or 20 years time we are not going to try and change things once again. In saying this, I am massively frustrated with being told news is imminent, only for it not to be. It’s like the takeover saga all over again. #stadiumcans

They own 15% of the club, so I’m assuming they have some say considering the investment is down by issue of new shares which would dilute their share percentage if they didn’t match the investment. I’m guessing though they are much more involved with the land acquisition, training ground, stadium, and Sela fanzone developments though.

Mate at work is a Sunderland fan. I’ve always made a point of not discussing our fortunes against them, or mentioning the derby in the 4 years I’ve known him. Even when we beat them last season, not a peep, I even went into that game saying they’d beat us because that’s just what happens. Not a peep from me when we beat them. Even going into their play off final I was kind enough to say good luck to him. He’s just sent me a video of when they beat us at SJP 25 years ago.

It’s absolutely not. It’s a part of Tyneside and the people from South Shields can call themselves Geordies alongside Sandancers. In terms of split, I’ve always felt that it was 40-40, with 20% swinging to whoever is doing well at the time, however I’ve lived a large portion of my life in North Shields, so what do I know? As soon as you get to Boldon and Cleadon, and even in South Shields as soon as you hit parts of Sunderland Road, you’ll see more Sunderland fans, however it’s not like Newcastle fans are a rarity in any of those locactions.

We have a couple of people at work you live in Barnard Castle, and Newton Aycliffe. We have 2 main sites, one on the banks of the Tyne behind Royal Quays, and another on Sunderland docks. Both of them claim it’s quicker to get to the North Shields site than it is to the Sunderland site. A 3rd person who lives in Sacriston also claims it’s quicker to get to the North Shields site.

Ever imagined what our kits would look like if we were still with Puma? Additionally, what Adidas could have given us.
-
Yeah I’ve said it before that they kick off about people from North Shields being Newcastle fans, despite North Shields being a Newcastle suburb. They also at the same time expect everyone in Spennymoor to be Sunderland fans. They also kick off at anyone in Durham who isn’t a Sunderland fan. For the record ladies and gentlemen, Durham is further away down the A190 from Sunderland, than North Shields is from Newcastle via the A1058.

I mean you have literally just mentioned 2 of them there. Ed Sheeran has sponsored Ipswich’s shirt at a time when they were struggling to attract a sponsor and bring in money. He’s even bought a minority stake in them, and is shown watching them on TV camera’s anytime they are on TV. In saying that, my old uni flatmate who’s from Norwich will tell you that before he became famous he would play gigs and Norwich Uni’s campus wearing a Norwich shirt. The Gallagher brothers are very intertwined with Man City, heck Noel has designed a shirt for them.

In all fairness, Apple had agreed a $1bn deal with FIFA for it, however FIFA got greedy, thought that they could get more, and put it back out to tender, thinking that if they split the rights up by region then they could get more money. No one made a bid for it, Apple had lost faith in FIFA agreeing to a deal, and ultimately DAZN matched the deal that Apple had previously made for whole world distribution rights, which was funded through PIF’s investment in DAZN.

They were queued around the place for season tickets going on general sale yesterday. Apparently people crying coming out of the box office after they got one. Makes you wonder why they haven’t had one until next season………….

I love how in her Facebook post sharing the petition she says and insinuates that the FAB have a close relationship with Newcastle City Council. That ‘close relationship’ is limited to 1 FAB member who is a Newcastle City Council Councillor. However she seems to neglect the fact that the very same FAB member is also the chairwoman of Friends of Leazes Park.

Change petitions never do anything in anyway.

Not strictly NUFC, but close enough. https://www.adidas.co.uk/archive-cutline-t-shirt/JX3075.html?cm_mmc=AdiPaidSocial_FBIG-_-CrossCategory-_-Darkpost-_-2D-_-Carousel-_-dv%3AeCOM-_-cn%3AAlwaysOn_NA-_-pc%3ACrossCategory&cm_mmc1=UK - CG&cm_mmc2=adidas-EMEA-eCOM-PaidSocial-FBIG-CrossCategory-ASC_NA-UK - CG-AlwaysOn-2503-4451-CP2SZR0-Global-NA-UKHexCellB&utm_campaign=120226121088650363&utm_content=120226121214640363&utm_id=120226121088650363&utm_medium=paid&utm_source=ig&utm_term=120226121098080363

The club are trying to get their social media support up. We are massively far down the list of clubs with the highest social media following. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/XyX4huNfxL

It was well known that it was first sung during an event at Balmbra’s. Absolutely minced in the head of you think it’s not associated with Newcastle, much like the new generation of Man Utd fan who actually think Busby’s aces was the original song.

Weren’t Espanyol rumoured to be coming over for a friendly?
