  1. Wouldn’t even let the cunt on the bus home now. Not just for the missed chance, but since he came on in the 2nd half he got outmuscled by everyone he came across, gave the ball away, and passed backwards when we were in a decent position. It’s like he’s actively trying to be shit.
  2. Just shows that our squad overall just is not good enough, absolutely not good enough.
  3. It’s never been a myth. We have known that they are not good enough. We still are a few players short in the 1st team, let alone the squad. It will take a few years to ease them out though.
  4. Botman and Isak aside, this team could legit have been starting league games for us this season without the takeover.
  5. Aye, I like them as well. They have a good loud fan base as well. I’m an ideal world they would be in the Premier League, disgusting that no one has taken them over and invested in them.
  6. Not long after they bought us.
  7. They’ve done it before. It’s a way of investing money into the club by creating new shares. If it’s a publicly listed company you run the risk of issuing too many shares and devaluing existing shares. In our case though there isn’t really a worry in that regard.
  8. Wouldn’t be a bad thing to have an annual WWE event at SJP.
  9. Fucking hell, no other club in the world would get given that penalty.
  10. Both teams look as weak as each other.
  11. Now the Man Utd fans are booing, fucking hell, what a start.
  12. Chanting for him out already.
  13. Hardly fair to say they aren’t investing in the club. In the last year they have just opened up a £100m training and academy centre that’s regarded as either the best in the world or one of the best in the world. They are also expanding the stadium, and I believe rumoured to be buying land outside the stadium for extra match day facilities and entertainment. They went on a spending spree a few years ago, mostly buying youngsters which I think was meant to see them through a few years without having to buy players whilst they did all this work. I’m going to guess they also thought that 1 or 2 players could be cashed in on and sold on for a profit, and to reinvest, but they never seemed to have developed as they hoped.
  14. The thing is though that largely for those players there won’t be a reduction of games. They are replacing those slots with UEFA club competition slots. As those clubs in Europe with the majority of international stars often started later on in the competition and even then often played their youngsters, is it really giving them a rest when they will likely just have to play their bigger stars in the UEFA competitions instead?
  15. I fucking hate that the top 6 clubs all say the League Cup, and Community Shield should be scrapped due to fixture congestion, then go ahead and vote for more fixtures in the Champions League.
  16. In the World rankings, League One (28th) is only ranked in the place above the A League (29th). The SPL is obviously ranked way higher at 17th. The Championship is placed in 11th, and you would say that he’d probably not get any meaningful game time for a Championship club. Considering this though, the Portuguese league is ranked at 7th, and you’d say the top 3/4 teams aside, he’d likely get a decent amount of game time.
  17. Absolutely can’t see them coming back if they can’t come back in this game.
  18. Everton now in the relegation zone as things stand.
  19. The stop clock is inspired by American systems. Do you think that they will simply stop the clock when the ball stops in play and simply restart again, or do you not think that ultimately it will lead to longer stoppages? Remember they claimed VAR would be virtually instant.
  20. It’s not ‘I don’t like American stuff’ but the fact that those in power don’t want the stop clock for the good of the game, but for commercial reasons, and result in the problem arguably worsening.
  21. All you’ll get is teams who are defending just spraying the ball sideways instead. It won’t improve the game at all, meanwhile every time the ball goes out of play we’ll stop for longer so that Gatorade can sponsor the timeout.
  22. No we don’t. It’s never ever been a problem in the game until now. Why is that? It’s because the teams at the top now need the games to flow faster. They used to be able to get in front and then kill the game off by slowing it down and the clock worked for them. The big clubs want it because at the moment they are playing a way where they need it, that could and ultimately will swing again. The people in charge of football want it because they can fill in the stop time with adverts.
