  1. AVB, for all his tactical talent, doesn't seem to be a people person. Not a good man-manager. Hence the appointment of Sherwood. From one extreme to the other.

  3. I'm not sure that out in the real world the chasm is as pronounced as it is on here. We've seen how poorly the protests are attended and how little effect boycotts have. N-O is a special place. I'm not sure how taunted the average fan feels.
  4. I don't know what he gets up to. So long as he's not doing that on MOTD2, we're good.
  5. As far as pundits go he's not bad. One of the few who actually make an effort to know what they're talking about. He doesn't always succeed but you can tell he's trying.
  6. Yeah, I don't care. Under every manager I've ever known since following NUFC there have been stories about phantom injuries. Couldn't give a toss.
  7. We don't agree on much, but we agree on this. At some point he needs to accept that pressing higher up the pitch and having some genuine threat that the opposition need to worry about will aid us not only in scoring goals but in defending too. I don't know how many 3 and 4 nil defeats you need before you realise you don't have the squad to sit back an absorb pressure. NB: I don't think sitting back and absorbing pressure is an abhorrent idea in principle, like some on here do. But there's no question we're shit at it.
  8. I know someone who did some work with the press/media "team" at NUFC. 20k sounds a bit generous.
  9. Being shit. He wasn't that bad, was he? Prone to the odd moment of madness but a good stopper.
  10. Bendtner available on a free. Worth a pop?
  11. Gomes one of the players released by Spurs. What happened to him?
  12. Shittest player I've enjoyed watching play. He will be missed, sort of.

  14. More Giggs than is humanly possible tbh. Seb, tbh.
  15. A few months old now but still interesting: https://soundcloud.com/followtonians/roberto-martinez-meets-the Interview with Roberto Martinez. Among other things he talks about style of play, positives and negatives of playing out from the back, influence of fans/unpopular board room decisions, the loan system, youth development, and managerial influences.

Molino has been good all season. Pretty sure he's been in the team of the week every single week. Really needs to be playing at a higher level.
  17. If you're one of the people that thinks it doesn't matter who we sign, we could sign Messi, and Pardew would still make him shit, then what do you possibly have to add to the conversation? Every single signing you're going to chime in and say the same shite. It's boring. If you want to give us a few reasons why this lad has a bright future here we'd be all ears. Otherwise you're just moaning about people moaning and it's very Inochi. I know nothing about the lad. I keep hoping to learn something every time I see the thread bumped, but as usual this thread has been hijacked by the manic depressives. We lost 7 of our last 8 games yet during that time I can't remember you doing anything but stick up for Pardew in all that time. I would suggest that the only way back for Pardew will be to get some results under his belt early doors next season, until then he's fair game whether you find it boring or not. Then you remember wrong.

Henry can't even do it, don't see why Robinho would be able to. I don't get to watch too many Eastern Conference games. Is Henry really that bad? From reading mlssoccer.com you'd assume he's the second coming of Christ.

I'm not sold on it. I don't see any benefit to signing players that used to be good and reinforcing the stereotype of MLS being a football retirement home. Even if they still come in and do a job the money would surely be better spent on someone coming into their prime who maybe isn't as big a name? You'd think MLS would benefit more from making star players that attract the attention of big European clubs rather than picking up their leftovers. I agree in theory, but I can tolerate Orlando trying to drum-up support in their opening MLS seasons, particularly if they're trying to build connections to the Brazilian community in Florida (and in Brazil). Montreal went out and scooped up a bunch of Italians (De Vaio, Nesta, Ferrari) to get the sizable Italian population of the city on board. It's worked out pretty well for them. I suppose from that point of view it makes a little more sense.

  21. Someone's still angry I didn't like their article.
