  1. I'd be a lot more concerned if he was speaking to any of the squad
  2. he's starting, pain killing injection according to ssn.

    Sammy Ameobi

hope he does well, do remember that beauty of a cross he put in for Cisse in the league cup (vs leeds wasn't it?)
  4. huge loss for them he's been fantastic this season.
  5. part of the pro license they have to get is media training. Listening to the press pass on talksport sunday and John Cross of the Mirror was talking a bit about it as he'd done that bit of it recently with Paul Ince on it and they do try to think of whatever scenario and how to answer it apparently.
  6. there's that side of it but there's also the fact he's the manager of a premier league club with some very talented players at his disposal and overall doing a fairly good job so can't be all bad.
  7. really? I'd have the most faith in Williamson/MYM as a pairing really worked well and was disappointed MYM was dropped
  8. It's what happens after the sale that makes people's opinion up. If we sold Cabaye and then for example straight away went and got Cabella/Grenier and another player in, I think people would accept it. Players move on for better clubs/bigger money, and clubs accept big offers all the time. Spurs managed to turn the negative of Bale going into a positive of loads of exciting players arriving initially, although it remains to be seen whether it was effective. Certainly wasn't in the early stages. indeed but I'd be most (pleasantly) surprised if anything other than De Jong got done before Friday
  9. Fulham send him back to QPR?
  10. TBF against Everton he would have had a point, he's improved a hell of a lot since that debacle though. I agree with him on Taylor, gets way too much stick on here. I'm no Williamson fan but I would think you have to go with Willo and MYM for form and fitness. Although got a feeling Taylor will get the nod ahead of MYM. on the Everton thing my pov is Colo and MYM should never ever play together again, they don't work as a pair. Taylor though I've said it a few times in theory he has the talent, in practise he's never shown it on any kind of consistent basis, he's prone to ridiculous utterly brain dead moments and he's made of glass these days. Williamson talent wise has less than Taylor but he's better at knowing what he's good at and sticking with it, the more technical and pacy strikers will get the better of him but he's an excellent partner for Colo or MYM.
  11. I actually like Huddlestone
  12. says a lot about Cisse's form when that can be said

    Football pet hates

just modern football again really. How if your not a CL club then god help you if you want nice things for more than a little while.
  14. I'd agree with other clubs but to us he was the guy the entire team and set up was built around
  15. Having another defensively minded player in midfield can give more scope to Ben Arfa (and others) going forward. Means they can pay less attention to their defensive duties. suppose having Tiote and for example Capoue with anita in front to link to a front three of HBA Remy and insert anyone but shola here could work but could get rather dull It's asking a lot of Anita. He's not really an attacking player, even though he's comfortable on the ball and passes well. neither is he really a defensive player much more the link between the two for me. Really liked the trio of Cabaye Anita and Tiote, Tiote to do the dirty work Anita great for keeping possession and Cabaye for that bit of magic in the attacking third. Without him, maybe put Sissoko in there and replace the flair with his running and physicality but its not exactly thrilling to think about it (and I like Sissoko)
  16. we don't have a player in the same mould as Cabaye and your a brave/deluded person if you believe we're likely to get another one before friday. Anita's the next best comparison but he doesn't have the creative spark Cabaye has.

  18. Why would Tottenham sell him, is there another Capoue i'm unaware of ? recall something about them trying to sell him earlier this window but could have mixed that up with someone else It's not that. Just looked at Douglas's tweets and he mentions Capoue but in regard to us want him, and Matuidi the season because Pardew wanted to go two pure DM's behind a creative three and striker. I think Douglas is hinting at a DM rather than a Cabaye type. Thing with that is we have no creativity without a Cabaye. Pardew has no say, if (and thats a huge if) we go for anyone it will be on the basis of price tag not whether he's needed or not
  19. the ultimate cheapskate meets the ultimate haggler. could get ugly
  20. Why would Tottenham sell him, is there another Capoue i'm unaware of ? recall something about them trying to sell him earlier this window but could have mixed that up with someone else indeed they are trying to flog him according to his agent The player’s representative, Martha Fischer, said: “The problem is not the player or Napoli – Tottenham just want a lot of money. What they’re asking for is absurd. But we are only on January 21, and there is still hope.” http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-etienne-capoue-3047338#ixzz2reCB70lW
